Abstract

Tanaman sawi (Brassica juncea L.) merupakan tanaman sayuran daun yang umumnya dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Sawi hijau berpotensi sebagai penyedia unsur mineral penting yang dibutuhkan oleh tubuh karena nilai gizinya tinggi. Dalam proses budidaya tanaman sawi tidak terlepas dari permasalahan yang disebabkan oleh hama dan penyakit tanaman. Penyakit yang sering ditemui pada tanaman sawi yaitu serangan Turnip Mosaic Virus (TuMV), dimana virus ini merupakan sala satu virus penting pada tanaman sawi. Tanaman yang terserang virus mosaik dapat ditekan dengan penambahan unsur kalium untuk meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman sehingga penetrasi patogen pada daun dapat terhambat. Penelotian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat dosis pupuk kandang kotoran ayam yang efektif mampu menekan penyakit mosaik yang disebabkan oleh serangan TuMV. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Penyakit Tumbuhan 5 dan Rumah Kaca Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya. Pelaksanaan penelitian pada bulan Agustus-Oktober 2018. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan pemberian tingkat dosis pupuk kandang kotoran ayam 0 ton/ha, 5 ton/ha, 10 ton/ha, 15 ton/ha, 20 ton/ha, dan 25 ton/ha. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali sehingga didapatkan 18 unit percobaan. Data pengamatan yang diperoleh dari percobaan dianalisis menggunakan uji F pada taraf 5%, apabila data berbeda nyata diuji lanjut dengan uji Duncan pada taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan yaitu pada variabel masa inkubasi gejala TuMV muncul pada 10,00 – 13,67 hari setelah inokulasi dengan gejala serangan yang muncul adalah gejala klorosis, melepuh dan malformasi. Perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dosis 20 ton/ha mampu menekan intensitas serangan lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya yaitu sebesar 11,28 %. Pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman sawi meningkat lebih tinggi dengan pemberian pupuk kandang kotoran ayam dosis 25 ton/ha.

English Abstract

Mustard plants (Brassica juncea L.) are leaf vegetable plants which are generally consumed by the people of Indonesia. Green mustard is a potential provider of essential minerals needed by the body because of its high nutritional value. In the process of cultivation of mustard plants can not be separated from the problems caused by pests and plant diseases. Disease that is often found in mustard plants is Turnip Mosaic Virus (TuMV), where the virus is an important virus in mustard plants. Plants that are attacked by a mosaic virus can be suppressed by adding potassium to increase plant resistance so that the penetration of pathogens in the leaves can be inhibited. This study aims was to determine the level of effective dung manure doses capable of suppressing mosaic diseases caused by TuMV attacks. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Diseases 5 and Greenhouses Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Brawijaya. The study was conducted in August-October 2018. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the treatment dose level of chicken manure 0 tons / ha, 5 tons / ha, 10 tons / ha, 15 tons / ha, 20 tons / ha, and 25 tons / ha. Each treatment was repeated three times. Observation data obtained from the experiments were analyzed using the F test at the level of 5%, if the data were significantly then further test by the Duncan test at the real level of 5%. The results obtained were that the variable symptom incubation period of TuMV appeared at 10.00 - 13.67 days after inoculation with the onset of symptoms that appeared were chlorosis, blisters and malformations. The treatment of chicken manure at a dose of 20 tons / ha was able to reduce the attack higher than other treatments, which amounted to 11.28%. The growth and production of mustard plants increased higher by providing manure with chicken manure at a dose of 25 tons / ha.
