Abstract
Beton merupakan unsur yang sangat penting dalam struktur bangunan. Beton memiliki kuat tekan yang tinggi, namun kuat tarik yang rendah. Baja tulangan digunakan untuk menahan gaya tarik. Apabila beton bertulang menahan gaya tarik yang melebihi kapasitas baja tulangan maka akan menimbulkan retak, sehingga dilakukan beberapa penelitian untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, salah satunya yaitu penambahan serat dalam campuran beton. Penelitin ini menggunakan serat kaleng karena selain dapat meningkatkan kuat tarik beton, serat yang digunakan dapat mengurangi permasalahan limbah di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh serat kaleng terhadap kuat lentur, lendutan, dan pola retak balok beton bertulang. Balok yang digunakan berdimensi (15 x 20 x 130) cm dengan mutu rencana K-250. Balok menggunakan tulangan utama D-10 mm dan tulangan sengkang ø8 mm. Serat yang digunakan yaitu serat dari limbah kaleng minuman dengan fraksi 10% dari volume beton, lebar 2 mm, dan variasi panjang yang digunakan yaitu 4 cm dan 8 cm. Pengujian dilakukan dengan meletakkan balok di atas dua tumpuan sederhana dan satu beban terpusat di tengah bentang. Pengukuran lendutan menggunakan dua LVDT yang diletakkan pada bagian bawah balok di tengah bentang, sedangkan pola retak diamati secara visual kemudian digunakan crack detector untuk mengukur lebar retak. Hasil pengujian balok menunjukkan bahwa serat yang paling optimum dalam menaikkan kuat lentur dan menurunkan nilai lendutan serta lebar retak pada balok adalah serat variasi panjang 8 cm. Kuat lentur balok meningkat sebesar 8,9% dari balok normal, lendutan balok mengalami penurunan sebesar 8,1% dari balok normal, dan lebar retak mengalami penurunan sebesar 14,3%.
English Abstract
Concrete is an important element in building structures. Concrete has a high compression strength, but has a low tensile strength. Installation of rebars are used in concrete to resist tensile strength. If reinforced concrete resist tensile strength more than the capacity of rebars, it will caused a crack, so some studies have been developed to solve this problem, one of that is the addition of fiber in concrete mixture. This experiment will used fiber can as the addition in concrete mixture. In addition to increasing the tensile strength of concrete, the use of can will reduce the waste problems in Indonesia. The aims of this experiment is to determine the effect of adding variety fiber can length to flexural strength, deflection, and crack of reinforced concrete beam. The beam’s dimension is (15 x 20 x 130) cm with using K-250 as the quality of concrete. The beam used D-10 mm as the dimension of main rebars and ø8 mm as the dimension of shear rebars. The fiber used is from waste of beverage cans with the fraction is 10% of the volume of the concrete, the width is 2 mm, and the length variation used is 4 cm and 8 cm. The experimental test is conducted by placing the beam on two simple supported with one central load in the middle of the beam. Deflection test uses two LVDTs which placed at the bottom of the beam in the middle, while the crack is observed visually and crack detector is used to measure the crack width. The result of this experiment show that the most optimum fiber can in increasing flexural strength and decreasing the values of deflection and width of the crack is fiber can with length 8 cm. The flexural strength increased by 8,9% from the normal beam, the deflection decreased by 8,1% from the normal beam, and the crack width decreased by 14,3% from the normal beam.
