Abstract

Cabai (Capsicium annum Linnaeus) merupakan tanaman hortikultura yang banyak digemari masyarakat Indonesia. Cabai biasa digunakan sebagai rempahrempah disetiap masakan indonesia. Serangan virus merupakan masalah utama dalam penurunkan produktivitas tanaman cabai. Gemini Virus merupakan salah satu penyebab penurunan produktivitas cabai. Patogen ini ditularkan melalui vektor kutu kebul (Bemisia tabacii). Gemini Virus menyebabkan infeksi terhadap tanaman cabai, seperti tulang daun menguning sehingga efisiensi fotosintesis pada daun yang terinfeksi terhambat, dikarenakan berkurangnya kadar CO2 dan kandungan klorofil. Senyawa eugenol mampu mengikat sel ketahanan tanaman untuk menghambat multifikasi virus sehingga infeksi virus dapat dikendalikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan eugenol dengan konsentrasi berbeda terhadap intensitas serangan Gemini Virus pada tanaman cabai. Penelitian di laksanakan di rumah kaca Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan dan Laboratorium Fisiologi Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya Malang pada bulan Januari-Mei 2019. Penelitian di lakukan menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap ( RAL ) dengan enam perlakuan, setiap perlakuan diulang empat kali. Sehingga diperoleh 24 perlakuan. Perlakuan tersebut yaitu PO: tanpa aplikasi eugenol dan inokulasi virus., P1: aplikasi eugenol 10 ml/liter dan inokulasi virus,. P2: aplikasi eugenol 15 ml/liter dan inokulasi virus,. P3: aplikasi eugenol 20 ml/liter dan inokulasi virus,. P4 : aplikasi eugenol 25 ml/liter dan inokulasi virus,. P5: aplikasi eugenol 30 ml/liter dan inokulasi virus. Variabel pengamatan meliputi, intensitas serangan penyakit (%), tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun (helai), jumlah klorofil daun (mg/l). Data pengamatan yang di peroleh dari hasil percobaan di analisi dengan analisis ragam menggunakan uji F. Apabila data menunjukkan pengaruh nyata dari perlakuan, maka dilanjutkan dengan Uji perbandingan antar perlakuan menggunakan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) pada taraf 5%. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan eugenol, dengan perlakuan terbaik konsentrasi 30 ml/l memberikan hasil intensitas serangan Gemini Virus terendah sebesar 1,32 % pada tanaman cabai bila dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya.

English Abstract

Chili (Capsicium annum Linnaeus) is a horticultural plant that is much preferred by the people of Indonesia. Chili is used as a spice in every Indonesian cuisine. Virus attack is a major problem in reducing the productivity of chili plants. Gemini Virus is one of the causes of decreased chili productivity. This pathogen is transmitted through the Bemisia tabacii vector. The Gemini Virus causes infection of chili plants, also reduction CO2 levels and chlorophyll content causes leaf bones to turn yellow so photosynthesis is inefficient. Eugenol compounds are capable to binding the plant cells to prevent viral multification as to prevent infection. This study conducted to test the interaction of Eugenol with different concentrations on the disease intensity of the Gemini Virus on chili. The study was conducted at the greenhouse of the Plant Pest and Diseases Department and the Laboratory of Plant Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, Malang from January until May 2019. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design method with six concentration treatments, each concentration was repeated four times. The concentration are PO: without eugenol application and virus inoculation, P1: eugenol application 10 ml / liter and virus inoculation, P2: eugenol application 15 ml / liter and virus inoculation, P3: eugenol application 20 ml / liter and virus inoculation, P4 : application of eugenol 25 ml / liter and virus inoculation, P5: application of eugenol 30 ml / liter and virus inoculation. Observation variables included, intensity of disease infection (%), plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), amount of leaf chlorophyll (mg / l). Observational data obtained from the experimental results were analyzed by analysis of variance using the F test. Request the data to show the trial of its realization, then proceed with the Test of the relationship between the tests using the Honestly Significant Difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results of the study showed that the treatment of eugenol, with the best treatment concentration of 30 ml / l gave the lowest intensity by 1,32 % of Gemini Virus in chilli when compared with other concentration
