Abstract

Seiring dengan meningkatnya jumlah penduduk maka permintaan pasar terhadap komoditas kailan semakin meningkat. Penggunaan lahan sempit di wilayah perkotaan harus dioptimalkan agar tetap produktif. Usaha peningkatan produksi tanaman dapat dilakukan dengan cara penanaman sistem vertikultur menggunakan polibag, akan tetapi terdapat permasalahan yaitu sering terjadi pemadatan media tanam saat sudah berada di polibag setelah beberapa waktu tertentu, sehingga perlu dilakukan pengaturan komposisi media tanam secara tepat agar didapatkan hasil yang optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mempelajari dan mendapatkan kombinasi media tanam yang tepat terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kailan (Brassica oleracea L. var. alboglabra) yang dibudidayakan secara vertikultur. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari hingga April 2019 di lahan percobaan milik Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya yang terletak di Kelurahan Jatimulyo, Kecamatan Lowokwaru, Kota Malang. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok. Perlakuan terdiri dari M0 = Tanah, M1 = Tanah : arang sekam (1:1), M2 = Tanah : cocopeat (1:1), M3 = Tanah : pupuk kandang (1:1), M4 = Tanah : arang sekam : pupuk kandang (1:1:1), dan M5 = Tanah : arang sekam : cocopeat (1:1:1). Masing-masing perlakuan diulang 4 kali sehingga diperoleh 24 satuan plot percobaan dan setiap perlakuan terdapat 12 tanaman sehingga terdapat 288 tanaman. Pengamatan dilakukan pada saat tanaman berumur 14, 21, 28, 35 dan 42 hari setelah tanam. Parameter pengamatan meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, luas daun, bobot kering tajuk per tanaman, bobot kering akar per tanaman, nisbah akar dengan tajuk, bobot segar total per tanaman dan bobot segar konsumsi per tanaman. Data pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam (uji F) pada taraf 5%, apabila berpengaruh nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan Uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) dengan taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi media tanam dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kailan yang dibudidayakan secara vertikultur. Kombinasi media tanam tanah : pupuk kandang dengan perbandingan 1:1 (M3) memiliki kemampuan tertinggi untuk meningkatkan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, luas daun, bobot kering tajuk dan bobot kering akar. Perlakuan kombinasi media tanam tanah : pupuk kandang dengan perbandingan 1:1 (M3) dan tanah : arang sekam : pupuk kandang dengan perbandingan 1:1:1 (M4) memberikan pengaruh nyata lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya dalam meningkatkan hasil bobot segar total serta bobot segar konsumsi per tanaman. Hasil bobot segar total dan bobot segar konsumsi per tanaman pada perlakuan kombinasi media tanam tanah : pupuk kandang dengan perbandingan 1:1 (M3) yaitu secara berturut-turut sebesar 142,29 dan 106,49 g dan perlakuan tanah : arang sekam : pupuk kandang dengan perbandingan 1:1:1 (M4) yaitu secara berturut-turut sebesar 136,46 dan 97,54 g.

English Abstract

Increasing of human population is infected to the market demand for commodities Chinese Kale. The narrow land uses in urban areas should be optimized in order to remain productive. Effort to increase crop production can be done by way of planting verticulture systems using polybags, however there is a problem that is often the case when growing media compaction was already in polybags after a certain time, so it is necessary to adjust the composition of the growing media appropriately in order to obtain optimal results. The purpose of this research was to study and get the best growing media combinations on growth and yield of Chinese Kale (Brassica oleracea L. var. alboglabra) which were cultivated vertically. The research was carried out from February to April 2019 at an experimental farm belonging to the Faculty of Agriculture University of Brawijaya located at Jatimulyo Village, Sub-district Lowokwaru, Malang City. The research conducted using Randomized Block Design. The treatment consists of M0 = soil, M1 = soil : husk charcoal (1:1), M2 = soil: cocopeat (1:1), M3 = soil: manure (1:1), M4 = soil : husk charcoal : manure (1:1:1), and M5 = soil : husk charcoal : cocopeat (1:1:1). Each treatment was repeated 4 times so that there were 24 unit plot experiment and every treatment there were 12 plants so there were 288 plants. Observations were carried out when the plants were 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after planting. Parameters include observations of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, dry weight of shoot, dry weight of root, the ratio of the root and shoot, total fresh weight per plant and fresh weight of total consumption per plant. Observation data were analysed using the analysis of variance (F test) at the 5% level, if there is significant difference then continued with the Honestly Significant Difference Test (BNJ) with 5% level. The results of this research show that the planting media combinations can affect growth and crop yield which were cultivated verticallly. The treatment of growing media combinations of soil : manure with a ratio of 1:1 (M3) has the highest ability to increase high yield of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, dry weight of shoot and dry weight of root. The treatment of growing media combinations of soil : manure with a ratio of 1:1 (M3) and soil : husk charcoal : manure with a ratio of 1:1:1 (M4) are also capable in increasing crop yield components of Chinese Kale, which in terms of parameters for fresh weight of total consumption per plant. The results of total fresh weight and fresh weight of consumption per plant in the treatment of planting media combinations of soil : manure with a ratio of 1:1 (M3) respectively were 142,29 and 106,49 g and the treatment of growing media combinations of soil : husk charcoal : manure with a ratio of 1:1:1 (M4) respectively were 136,46 and 97,54 g.
