Respon Tanaman Selada (Lactuca Sativa L.) Terhadap Pemberian Mulsa Dan Periode Penyiangan Gulma

Husni, Julia (2019) Respon Tanaman Selada (Lactuca Sativa L.) Terhadap Pemberian Mulsa Dan Periode Penyiangan Gulma. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is a horticultural vegetable commodity that has high economic value and is widely consumed by the public. One obstacle that often occurs in the field that causes a decrease in lettuce productivity is the presence of weeds in the field. Weeds can reduce the quantity and quality of production because they compete in gaining growth needs. One method that can be used to manipulate the growing environment is by using mulch and weeding. The study aims to determine the effect of rice straw mulch in relation to weeding periods of weed in lettuce plants. The research was carried out in the Jatimulyo experimental garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, Malang, East Java, at an altitude between 440-667 masl. This study began in October - December 2017. This study used a factorial randomized block design (RCBD) consisting of two factors. Factor 1: Mulch (M), Factor 2: Period (P) Weed weeding. Growth observation is done destructively and analysis weed vegetation at the age of 14, 21, 28, 35 day after plant. Decstructive observation, including growth components: plant height, number of leaves, leaf area index, consumption fresh weight, CGR (Crop Growh Rate), weed component: weed dry weight and weed vegetation analysis and yield components: leaf area index, fresh weight consumption, total dry weight of plants. The results showed that the size of mulch and weeding had a significant effect on several components of lettuce growth observation (plant height & number of leaves) and weed observations (total weed dry weight, weed dominance) but had no significant effect on the components of lettuce production observed (index leaf area, consumption fresh weight, and total dry weight)
