Suharto, Lucky Haris (2019) Pengaruh Spindle Speed dalam Proses Face-Milling terhadap Laju Korosi pada Stainless Steel 316L Menggunakan Mesin CNC Milling. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of spindle speed in the face milling process on corrosion rates on 316L stainless steel using CNC milling machines. The surface roughness generated from the face milling process is influenced by the machining parameters used, one of which is spindle speed. The higher the spindle speed, the lower the surface roughness formed by the machining process. High surface roughness will affect the corrosion rate that occurs in the material. In this study the tool used is a 6 mm carbide chisel, with a spindle speed variation of 1800 rpm, 1600 rpm and 1400 rpm. The fixed feed rate used is 0.002 mm / rev. The results showed that the higher the spindle speed used, the lower the surface roughness. The results of the testing of surface roughness obtained mean roughness (Ra) which is 1.322 μm for 1800 rpm spindle speed variation, 1.623 μm for 1600 rpm spindle speed variation, and 1.723 μm for 1400 rpm spindle speed variation. As for the results of testing the corrosion rate, the tendency produced is in accordance with the roughness value, namely if the value of surface roughness is higher, the value of the corrosion rate will be higher and vice versa. The results of the corrosion rate test obtained values of the average corrosion rate of 0.20182 mm / year for 1800 rpm spindle speed variation, 0.287363333 mm / year for 1600 rpm spindle speed variation, and 0.459576667 mm / year for 1400 rpm spindle speed variation.
