Abstract

Kata Kunci: batako interlock, dinding, kuat tekan, kuat geser horizontal, kuat geser diagonal xvi Halaman ini sengaja dikosongkan. xvii SUMMARY Hanita Nurilina Dini, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Brawijaya University, June 2019, Experimental Study of Interlocking Concrete Masonry Walls under In-Plane Load, Academic Supervisor: Sri Murni Dewi and Lilya Susanti. The country of Indonesia is geographically located within the ring of fire and is the meeting point of three earth plates consisting of pacific earth plate, eurasia earth plate and Indo-Australia earth plate which cause earthquakes to occur frequently in Indonesia. One of the consequences of the earthquake was the collapse of the walls of the residents' houses. Therefore it is necessary to improve the performance of the walls against earthquakes. To reduce losses due to the earthquake, walls were made using interlocking concrete blocks. In this study, walls were made using interlocking concrete blocks which were 80 cm high, 75 cm long and 12.5 cm thick. The reinforcement is consists of plain steel reinforcement with a diameter of 6 mm and 8 mm. A mixture of 1 cement : 5 sand is used for species. Reinforcement and specimens are used as fillers for two holes of interlocking block walls. In this research 9 (nine) pieces of interlocking block walls were made. Testing of interlocking block walls were done by giving a load from vertical, horizontal and diagonal directions on each of the 3 (three) walls using load cell gradually loaded until I reaches the macimum load and the wall has collapsed. And testing the compressive strength of the interlocking concrete block unit using a compression test machine to determine the quality of interlocking concrete block unit. The final results of this research are the quality of the interlocking concrete block unit, compressive strength, horizontal shear strength and diagonal shear strength of the interlocking block walls. The results of the interlocking concrete block unit compressive test obtained the quality of single block is 4.983 MPa and double block is 9.872 MPa. The results of the testing of the interlocking concrete block walls showed that the average compressive strength of the walls is 0.796 MPa with a maximum load of 82000 N, horizontal shear strength of the walls is 0.118 MPa with a maximum load of 23000 N and diagonal shear strength of the walls is 0.226 MPa with maximum load 15500 N. The research results were compared with the results of the previous studies namely red brick walls and another interlocking concrete block walls.
