Abstract
Media informasi saat ini mulai berkembang serta semakin mudah digunakan dalam penelusuran informasi terlebih dengan adanya akses internet sehingga media informasi dapat diakses dengan cara mudah. Berbagai kalangan pun mulai menggunakan media informasi secara online salah satunya mahasiswa untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya. Berbagai macam media informasi online saat ini yang dapat dengan mudah diakses seperti media sosial. Media sosial menjadi wadah informasi yang mudah digunakan untuk penelusuran informasi salah satunya twitter. Twitter menjadi media sosial yang banyak digunakan oleh para pengguna internet, dari twitter berbagai macam informasi yang didapatkan oleh penggunanya salah satunya musik K-Pop. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku penelusuran informasi mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Administrasi Universitas Brawijaya terkait dengan kebutuhan informasi tentang musik K-Pop pada twitter. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif dengan metode pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan yaitu penyebaran kuesioner kepada 97 sampel yang merupakan mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Administrasi Universitas Brawijaya. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini bahwa mahasiswa sering mengawali penentuan topik terkait musik K-Pop sebelum mencarinya selain itu menggunakan sumber informasi yang telah diikutinya dan mencari informasi tersebut. Setelah mendapatkan informasi yang diinginkan, para mahasiswa pun melakukan penyaringan informasi untuk mendapatkan informasi yang sesuai serta keakuratan informasi tersebut. Setelah itu, mahasiswa melakukan pemantauan pada sebuah sumber informasi untuk mendapatkan informasi yang sesuai kebutuhan informasinya dan memeriksa kembali informasi tersebut. Dari seluruh kegiatan sebelumnya, mahasiswa dapat merasa puas akan hasil penelusuran informasinya apabila informasi tersebut sesuai kebutuhannya dan akurat.
English Abstract
Media of information is very fast for developing and easier to finding out information especially internet access and information can get accessed easily. Various people started to use media of information in online, one of them are college students to fill their information needs. There is a various online media that to use easily like social media. Social media was the easiest way to search information, the example is twitter. Twitter become a social media which they have a lot of users, from twitter there are so many information that user can get like K-Pop music. This research was to purpose to know the information seeking behavior of Faculty of Administrative Sciences Students, Brawijaya University. The method use in this research was descriptive with quantitative approach. Data collection was conducting by distributing questionnaires to 97 samples who was the Faculty of Administrative Sciences Students. The result showed that the students often to starting with topic determination about K-Pop music before they find out, and then they used the information source that they followed. After they got the information, they do a filtering the information to get the accurate information and suit for they information needs. After that, they do monitor the information source to get their information needs and verified the information. The last was they feel satisfied when they feel their information needs was accurate and suitable for themselves.
