Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui pengaruh variasi holding time dan temperatur yang optimal pada proses heat treatment aluminium(Al) terhadap laju korosi spesimen baja API 5L X65. Aluminium banyak digunakan sebagai anoda tumbal pada pipa yang terbuat dar baja API 5L X65, hal ini disebabkan karena potensial oksidasi dari Aluminium lebih tinggi dari Fe sehingga cenderung lebih mudah terkorosi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental. Pengujian dilakukan dengan 3 variasi holding time 30, 45, dan 60 menit. 3 variasi suhu 350, 450, dan 550ºC. Aluminium murni dengan dimensi sebesar 40mm x 0,75 mm x 10 mm dihubungkan ke katoda yang telah dihubungkan keadaptor dengan arus 5 volt. Didapatkan bahwa laju korosi terendah pada suhu 350ºC dengan holding time 30 menit. Dan semakin tinggi suhu dan semakin lama waktu holding didapatkan semakin memperbesar laju korosi dan menurnkan ketahanan korosi.

English Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know how holding time and temperature on the process of aluminum heat treatment as sacrifice anode effects to the corrotion rate of API 5L X65 steel plate. As we know aluminium usually used as sacrifice anode at the pipe line with API 5L X65 specs, the aluminium is used as the sacrifice anode because the potential oxidation of the aluminium is higher than the iron this cause the aluminium is easier to corrode. This research is based on experimental metodes. The experiment use 3 variation of holding time 30, 45, and 60 minutes. And 3 variation of holding temperature 350, 450, and 550oC. the Aluminium that had 40mm × 0.75mm × 10mm dimension was connected to the cathode and both connected to the DC adaptor with 5 volt currents. The result of the experiment is, the lowest corrotion rate is the specimen with 30 minutes holding time and 350oC holding temperature. And the higher holding temperature and longer the holding time cause the higher of the corrosion rate and lower the corrosion resistance.
