Abstract
Konflik Suriah berasal dari pengaruh Arab Spring dan pemerintahannya ingin mengaplikasikan revolusi tersebut di Suriah namun gagal hingga menyebabkan konflik sipil dan menggunakan senjata kimia yang menyebabkan banyak korban jiwa terutama anak – anak dan wanita. Suriah telah melanggar red line tentang pelarangan penggunaan senjata kimia untuk membubarkan massa yang berdemo yang membuat Amerika Serikat merespon tindakan Suriah yang dikepalai oleh Bashar Al Assad sebagai Presiden Suriah. Menggunakan konsep Determinant of Foreign Policy oleh William D. Coplin, penulis hendak mendeskripsikan faktor apa saja yang membuat Amerika Serikat dalam invasi militernya ke wilayah Suriah ini yang terdapat tiga faktor yaitu Domestic Politic, Economy and Military, dan International Circumstances.
English Abstract
The Syrian conflict originated from the influence of the Arab Spring and the government of Syria wanted to apply the revolution in Syria but failed, causing civil conflict and use of chemical weapons which caused many casualties, especially children and women. Syria has violated the red line about the ban on the use of chemical weapons to disperse the demonstrating masses which made the United States respond to Syrian actions headed by Bashar Al Assad as Syrian President. Using the concept of Determinant of Foreign Policy by William D. Coplin, the author would like to describe what factors made the United States in its military invasion of Syria which this concept have three factors, namely Domestic Politic, Economy and Military, and International Circumstances.
