Meirani, Ratih Putri (2019) Representasi Postfeminist Femininity Tokoh Christine Mcpherson Dalam Film Lady Bird. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

Tujuh kategori tersebut adalah mental state, physical state, emotional state, sexual state, cultural state, occupational state dan familial state.

English Abstract

This thesis is entitled Postfeminist Femininity Representation of Christine McPherson’s Character in Lady Bird Movie. This study aims to find out the postfeminist femininity depiction of the main female characters in the film Lady Bird. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods which are analyzed using Roland Barthes's Semiotics. From the results of the study, the description of the postfeminist femininity of Christine is seen in 7 categories of postfeminist femininity values. The seven categories are mental state, physical state, emotional state, sexual state, cultural state, occupational state and familial state. Christine is portrayed as a person who cares about her education, has a broad view, shows herself what she wants, is determined, self-conscious but often experiences an identity crisis, rebel, independent, willing to work, and is more concerned with friends than her family. From the visible text, Christine has the seven categories in her, but there is still a value of traditional femininity in her. This shows that the old construction related to femininity is difficult to eliminate
