Pengaruh Spindle Speed dalam Proses Drilling terhadap Laju Korosi pada Stainless Steel 316L Menggunakan Mesin CNC Milling

Ahmad, Firman Andi (2019) Pengaruh Spindle Speed dalam Proses Drilling terhadap Laju Korosi pada Stainless Steel 316L Menggunakan Mesin CNC Milling. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of spindle speed in the drilling process on the corrosion rate of 316L stainless steel using cnc milling machines. The drilling process will produce different hole surfaces based on the spindle speed variations used, with a spindle speed variation 1800 rpm, 1600 rpm and 1400 rpm. The surface that has been carried out by the drilling process is then testing of surface roughness. Surface roughness is strongly influenced by the spindle speed used in the drilling process, where the smaller the spindle speed used results in a greater surface roughness value. From the results testing of surface roughness was found that the average surface roughness of each variation was 0.942 μm, 1.381 μm and 1.753 μm. Corrosion rate testing also found a correlation between the surface roughness and the corrosion rate of 316L stainless steel material, namely the higher the surface roughness value, the corrosion rate will also increase. The results of testing the corrosion rate obtained values of the average corrosion rate of 0.205454 mm/year, 0.61112 mm/year and 1.35606667 mm/year.
