Sitepu, Grace Olivia Salsalina (2019) Usulan Perbaikan Tata Letak Penyimpanan Finished Good Products dengan Metode Class Based Storage di Warehouse 4 PT Aneka Tuna Indonesia. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

Warehouse 4 PT Aneka Tuna Indonesia digunakan untuk penyimpanan finished good products. Warehouse 4 PT Aneka Tuna Indonesia belum memiliki standarisasi untuk penyimpanan finished good products sehingga jarak perpindahan finished good products panjang dan mengakibatkan pergerakan material handling yang kurang efektif. Perpindahan finished good products menggunakan forklift.

English Abstract

Warehouse 4 of PT Aneka Tuna Indonesia is used to store finished good products. Warehouse 4 of PT Aneka Tuna Indonesia does not have a standard for storing finished good products so that the distance between moving good finished products is long and results in less effective material handling movements. Transfer of finished good products using a forklift. This problem can be solved by storing finished goods products that consider its popularity so that it can reduce the material handling distance of storage and retrieval of the finished goods products. Class-Based Storage method can be used to solve these problems because it classifies products based on popularity and similarity. The step to take with class-based storage began with calculating the floor utility of the existing layout, calculating the throughput of finished good products, and calculating the material handling distance. After that, calculating the throughput of each SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) then sorting the product from the largest throughput to the smallest then making class formation based on Pareto's law. Then, determine the width of the aisle needed by material handling. After processing data, designing a layout based on data that has been processed. Then calculate the amount of space capacity and utility of the proposed layout. Alternative layouts are determined by considering accessibility of product picking so that the layout is designed by across-aisle and within-aisle approach. Product allocation is done based on the class formation that has been done in the previous stage. After that, calculate the distance each alternative layout. Based on the results of data processing, it was found that the total material handling distance in the existing layout was 2452632,2 m, the total material handling distance in the alternative layout 1 that was designed with across the aisle was 1476356,2 m while the total material handling distance in alternative layout 2 was designed with within aisle is 1855389,6 m. Based on 2 alternative layouts designed, layout recommendation is determined that can reduce material handling distance so that alternative layout 1 can be obtained as a recommendation to improve layout at Warehouse 4 of PT Aneka Tuna Indonesia because the shortest distance is 1855389,6 m.
