Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran forgiveness terhadap life satisfaction pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik regresi linier sederhana. Sampel responden peneitian sebanyak 460 responden yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan karakteristik mahasiswa S1 yang ada di Indonesia. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan TransgressionRelated Interpersonal Motivation-12 (TRIM-12) milik McCullough (1998) dan Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) milik Diener (1985). Hasil dalam penelitian ini dihitung dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 20.0 for Windows dan didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat peran antara forgiveness terhadap life satisfaction pada mahasiswa, yang memiliki arti bahwa semakin tinggi forgiveness maka semakin tinggi pula life satisfaction.

English Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of forgiveness on life satisfaction on students. This research was a quantitative study with simple linear regression techniques. The number of respondent research samples were 460 respondents and taken using a purposive sampling technique with the characteristics of S1 students in Indonesia. The instruments in this study used Transgression-Related Interpersonal Motivation-12 (TRIM-12) belonging to McCullough (1998) and Diener's Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) (1985). The results in this study were calculated with the help of SPSS version 20.0 for Windows software and the results showed that there was a role between forgiveness toward life satisfaction on students, which meant that the higher forgiveness was the higher life satisfaction.
