Quality of Service (QoS) Aplikasi Live Streaming Pada Jaringan Testbed WiMAX 802.16d Dengan Variasi Background Traffic

Dirgantara, Ardyanda Putra (2019) Quality of Service (QoS) Aplikasi Live Streaming Pada Jaringan Testbed WiMAX 802.16d Dengan Variasi Background Traffic. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

Background traffic berupa paket UDP yang berdasarkan pada pola transmisi yaitu burst and periodic, burst and random, continuous and constant dan continuous and random.

English Abstract

This thesis discusses Quality of Service (QoS) on WiMAX testbed network for live streaming application services with a variety of background traffic. Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is a broadband wireless access technology that can be used in LOS (Line of Sight) and NLOS (Non Line of Sight) conditions. In addition, WiMAX is presented to provide high-speed data transfer technology. Data transfer speeds can reach up to 75 Mbps and a range of up to 50 Km. The WiMAX network studied was AN-100U WiMAX Redline with Point to Multipoint topology. The live streaming application used in this study is VLC media player. Background traffic is a UDP package based on transmission patterns, namely burst and periodic, burst and random, continuous and constant and continuous and random. Based on the ITU-T standard recommendations G.1010 and G.114, the performance of live streaming services on this network has met the standards. From the results of the study, it shows that the traffic load of 0 Kbps has packet loss, delay and throughput of 0.2%, 6.4 ms and 2 Mbps. While for 7 Kbps traffic loading, it has packet loss, delay and throughput of 0.9%, 8.2 ms and 4.7 Mbps. And for 14 Kbps traffic loading, it has packet loss, delay and throughput of 10.7%, 8.5 ms and 3.8 Mbps. For the value of delay and packet loss, the RtPS method has the lowest value.
