Abstract
Fenomena poligami sudah lama ada dan kini menjadi semakin berkembang. Di Indonesia, fenomena poligami sudah bukan hal yang asing di masyarakat, salah satunya dengan munculnya aplikasi instant messenger yang bernama “Ayopoligami.com”. Instant messenger tersebut yang memfasilitasi sebagai alat pertukaran pesan berupa teks maupun audio. Munculnya aplikasi instant messenger “Ayopoligami.com” membuat perbedaan pandangan dari sudut pandang suami dan istri. Pandangan yang setuju mengatakan bahwa aplikasi ini dapat mengurangi tingkat perselingkuhan, sedangkan yang tidak setuju mengatakan bahwa aplikasi ini adalah bentuk kekerasan terhadap kaum perempuan. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah ingin mengetahui bagaimana persepsi pasangan suami-istri terhadap munculnya aplikasi instant messenger “Ayopoligami.com”. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori persepsi komunikasi, karena peneliti ingin melihat pandangan dari masing-masing informan suami-istri terkait munculnya aplikasi “Ayopoligami.com”. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi suami memiliki dua persepsi yakni persepsi positif dan persepsi negatif. Sedangkan persepsi dari istri yang muncul hanya persepsi negatif yang memandang aplikasi tersebut tidak menguntungkan dan menindas perasaan kaum perempuan.
English Abstract
Phenomenon polygamy has been long time existed and very increasing for now. In Indonesia, phenomenon of polygamy not strange anymore inside people society, example the appearance instant messenger application “Ayopoligami.com”. This instant messenger which used for communication tools in the form of texts or audio. This appearance instant messenger “Ayopoligami.com” makes different opinions from the perspective of husband and wife. Agree perspective says that this application can reduce the level of infidelity, meanwhile those who had disagree perspective says that this application is a form of violence against women. The aim of this research was to find out how the perception of the couple husband and wife about the appearance of instant messenger “Ayopoligami.com”. This research is a qualitative research and using a qualitative descriptive methods. This research uses the theory of perception communication, because the researcher want to see of the perception from each informant husband and wife about appearance of the application “Ayopoligami.com”. The results of this research shows that the husband has two perceptions, positive perception and negative perception. Meanwhile the perception of wife is only has negative perception for the appereance of instant messenger “Ayopoligami.com” as not favorable and suppresses the feelings of women.
