Abstract

Rumah Belajar Jakarta International Container Terminal Koja adalah salah satu wadah pendidikan nonformal yang menampung siswa-siswi yang belum menyelesaikan pendidikannya. Ada beberapa faktor yang menjadi penyebab mereka belum menyelesaikan jenjang pendidikannya, seperti menjadi korban kekerasan fisik maupun verbal yang dilakukan oleh guru di sekolah formal, korban bullying, kendala biaya dan lain-lain. Permasalahan yang dihadapi siswa putus sekolah ini membuat mereka tidak ingin kembali pada sekolah formal dan memutuskan untuk melanjutkan pendidikannya pada sekolah nonformal yaitu Rumah Belajar JICT Koja. Untuk itu, penulis ingin mengetahui motif apa yang membuat siswa putus sekolah di Kecamatan Koja, Jakarta Utara lebih tertarik untuk melanjutkannya pada sekolah nonformal Rumah Belajar JICT Koja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deksriptif. Pengumpulan data yang didapatkan melalui wawancara mandalam dan observasi. Adapun subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa putus sekolah yang sudah bergabung di Rumah Belajar JICT Koja sebanyak tujuh siswa dan satu pembimbing atau pengelola Rumah Belajar JICT Koja. Tujuh siswa yang menjadi informan penelitian ini antara lain adalah MK, MD, WY, LI, AB, HP, dan IP. Informan pengelola atau pembimbing Rumah Belajar JICT Koja adalah Mbak Dyah Trisnowati. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori struktural fungsional oleh Robert K Merton untuk menganalisis penelitian ini. Hasil temuan dan analisis yang penulis temukan adalah permasalahan yang terjadi siswa putus sekolah di sekolah formal membuat mereka tidak ingin kembali ke sekolah formal karena telah mengalami trauma dengan guru-guru di sekolah formal dan teman-teman di sekolah formal karena menjadi korban kekerasan secara fisik maupun verbal oleh guru dan korban bullying oleh teman-teman sekelas mereka. Tidak bisa mengakses Kartu Jakarta Pintar Plus juga menjadi alasan mereka tidak meneruskan pendidikan di sekolah formal karena biaya sekolah swasta yang mahal. Masalah tersebut yang akhirnya terjadi disfungsi dalam lingkungan yang seharusnya mendukung siswa untuk bersekolah, dari institusi pendidikan, keluarga, lingkungan, dan pemerintah. Untuk memilih sekolah nonformal kejar paket Rumah Belajar JICT Koja ini adalah karena kelebihan daripada sekolah nonformal Rumah Belajar JICT Koja menarik minat siswa putus sekolah untuk mau kembali lagi melanjutkan pendidikannya. Sistem pembelajaran yang tidak ditemui di sekolah formal juga menjadi alasan siswa putus sekolah memilih sekolah nonformal ini. Keinginan siswa putus sekolah untuk mau kembali lagi melanjutkan pendidikannya ternyata juga tidak lepas dari dukungan orang tua, saudara dan teman-teman siswa putus sekolah tersebut.

English Abstract

Rumah Belajar Jakarta International Container Terminal Koja is one of non-formal education institution that accommodates students who have not completed their education yet. There are several factors that cause them why they have not completed their education yet, such as physic and verbal violence victim that they got from their formal school 's teachers, bullying victim, limit financial and etc. Because of these problems, they don't want to take formal education anymore and decide to continue their education to non-formal school namely Rumah Belajar JICT Koja. Therefore, the writer wants to find out the reasons why the students who have not completed their education yet in Koja Subdistrict, North Jakarta more interested to continue their education to non formal education Rumah belajar JICT Koja. This study used qualitative research method with descriptive approach. Collecting datas were obtained by interview and observation. Subjects of this research were dropout students who have joined in Rumah Belajar JICT Koja and the supervisor of Rumah Belajar JICT Koja. Seven students who became informants of this study include MK, MD, WY, LI, AB, HP, and IP. The supervisor is Mbak Dyah Trisnowati. This study uses the structural functional theory by Robert K Merton to analyze this study The findings and analysis that the authors found were problems that occurred when students dropped out of school in formal schools making them not want to go back to formal school because they have experienced trauma by their teachers in formal schools and friends in formal schools because they are victims of physical violence or verbal by the teacher and victims of bullying by their classmates. Not being able to access Kartu Jakarta Pintar is also the reason they don't continue their education in formal schools because of the expensive fees of private schools. The problem is ultimately dysfunction in the environment that should support students to go to school, from educational institutions, families, the environment, and the government. To choose Rumah Belajar JICT Koja chasing non-formal school is because of the advantages of Rumah Belajar JICT Koja nonformal school attracting students to drop out of school to want to go back to continuing their education. The learning system that is not found in formal schools is also the reason for school dropouts to choose this non-formal school. The desire for school dropouts to want to go back to continuing their education was also inseparable from the support of parents, siblings and friends of the dropout students.
