Abstract
Film merupakan salah satu media massa yang berbentuk audio visual dan sifatnya sangat kompleks. Kekuatan dan kemampuan film dalam menjangkau banyak segmen sosial sehingga film memiliki potensi untuk mempengaruhi khalayaknya. Isi film tidak saja mampu merefleksikan tetapi juga menciptakan realitas seperti feminisme. Salah satu contoh film maskulin yaitu film yang bertema heroik yaitu “Man Of Steel”. Dengan melihat tanda-tanda dari gejala feminism pada film tersebut, peneliti menggunakan teori semiotika "two order of signification" dari Roland Barthes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui representasi feminisme yang diperankan oleh Lois Lane dalam film Man of Steel. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode analisis semiotika untuk melihat ideologi yang tersembunyi dalam serial film tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tokoh Lois Lane sebagai simbol dari feminisme yang mampu memberi inspirasi bagi kaum wanita bahwasannya derajat wanita diposisikan sebagaimana mestinya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak hanya lelaki yang bisa mencetak prestasi baik, namun wanita juga dapat membuktikkan prestasi yang dicapainya dan tidak dipandang sebelah mata.
English Abstract
Film is one of the mass media in the form of audio-visual and is very complex. Film's strength and ability to reach many social segments so that the film has the potential to influence its audience. The contents of the film are not only able to reflect but create a reality like feminism. One example of a masculine film is a heroic themed film called "Man of Steel". By looking at the signs of feminism symptoms in the film, the researcher used the semiotic theory of "two order of signification" from Roland Barthes. This study aims to determine the representation of feminism played by Lois Lane in the film Man of Steel. This research is descriptive qualitative research using semiotic analysis method to see the ideology hidden in the film series. The results of this study indicate that the character of Lois Lane as a symbol of feminism that is able to inspire women that women degrees are positioned accordingly. This shows that not only men can score good results, but women can also prove their achievements and are not underestimated.
