Abstract
Konsep diri bukan merupakan faktor yang dibawa sejak lahir, melainkan faktor yang dipelajari dan terbentuk dari pengalaman-pengalaman yang diperoleh dari interaksi dengan lingkungan salah satu contohnya adalah melalui drama Korea. Drama Korea sendiri ternyata tidak hanya ditonton oleh kaum perempuan tetapi juga oleh kaum laki-laki. Efek yang ditimbulkan dari pesan media massa membawa dampak rasa ingin meniru terhadap bintang film yang mereka idolakan dan juga masyarakat cenderung akan menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai dari pesan media massa tersebut ke dalam perilaku kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana perubahan konsep diri laki-laki yang menjadi penonton drama Korea. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan drama Korea menjadi salah satu faktor pembentuk konsep diri yang positif yaitu romantis, peka terhadap lingkungan sekitar, dan melankolis.
English Abstract
Self-concept is not a factor that is born from birth, but a factor that is learned and formed from experiences gained from interaction with the environment one example is through Korean drama. Korean drama itself was not only watched by women but also by men. The effects of mass media messages have the effect of feeling like imitating the movie stars they idolize and also people tend to internalize the values of the mass media messages into the behavior of everyday life. The purpose of this study was to find out how the changes in the concept of male self were the audience of Korean dramas. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study show that Korean drama is one of the factors that form a positive self-concept that is romantic, sensitive to the environment, and melancholy.
