Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas tentang peran komunitas rukun nelayan muara solo dalam mempertahankan eksistensi sebagai nelayan di Desa Ujung Pangkah Wetan Kecamatan Ujung Pangkah Kabupaten Gresik. Hal tersebut dilakukan karena nelayan yang ada di Ujung Pangkah wetan banyak yang kurang modal, sehingga dengan minim modal nelayan hutang kepada juragan yang akan berdampak pada pendapatan para nelayan, karena ketika nelayan berhutang maka ikan yang nelayan dapatkan akan dibeli juragan dengan harga yang lebih murah dari harga pasar. Sehingga dari permasalahan tersebut peneliti melihat dari segi bagaimana tindakan yang dilakukan oleh pengurus komunitas ketika anggotanya mengalami permasalahan kurang modal. Dari sini peneliti ingin melihat peran dari komunitas rukun nelayan, apakah peran komunitas rukun nelayan itu sudah bisa berjalan dengan baik dan bagaimana komunitas rukun nelayan itu bisa mempertahankan eksistensi sebagai nelayan. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep peran komunitas sebagai acuan analisis untuk menggambarkan tentang peran komunitas rukun nelayan muara solo. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data yang didapat peneliti dari lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pengurus komunitas rukun nelayan masih belum melakukan tindakan tentang masalah yang dihadapi oleh banyak anggota nelayan yaitu kurang modal, meskipun pengurus itu mendapatkan pelatihan namun pengurus tidak menerapkan pelatihan itu kepada anggotanya. Dan pengurus mempertahankan eksistensi sebagai nelayan karena mereka berpegang teguh pada tujuan dari pembentukan komunitas rukun nelayan juga karena agar tidak tergeser oleh rukun nelayan dari luar daerah.
English Abstract
This study discussed the role of the basis Muara Solo fishermen community in maintaining the existence as Fishermen in Ujung Pangkah Wetan Village, Ujung Pangkah District, Gresik Regency. This was done because many fishermen in Ujung Pangkah wetan had low capital, so with their low capital, the fishermen owed to the skipper which would effect to the fishermen’s income, because when fishermen had a debt, so the fish that the fishermen got would be purchased by the skipper by a cheaper price than the market price. From these problem, the researcher analyzed in term of what action the community committee took when their members were having problem with minimal capital. Here, the researcher wanted to look at the role of the basis fishermen community, whether the role of basis fishermen community were already able to walk properly and how the basis fishermen community could maintain the existence as fishermen. This study used the concept of the community role as a reference analysis to describe the role of the Basis Muara Solo Fishermen Community. In this study, the researcher used descriptive qualitative method. The data obtained by the researchers from the field showed that the committee of the Basis Fishermen Community had not taken any action on the problems faced by many fishermen, i.e. lack of capital, even though the committee received training but the committee did not apply the training to the members . The committee maintained their existence as fishermen because they clung to the goal of the establishment of the basis fishermen community as well due to not being displaced by the basis fishermen community from outside the region.
