Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran subjective well-being pada lansia panti jompo “X” di Kota Malang. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi. Penentuan subjek penelitian berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling yang terdiri dari 3 orang lansia perempuan yang tinggal di salah satu panti jompo Kota Malang. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan observasi, dengan teknik analisis data dan model analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman, berdasarkan 2 komponen subjective well-being milik Diener, Suh, Lucas, & Smith. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga subjek lansia yang tinggal di panti jompo memiliki subjective well-being yang beragam. Berdasarkan dua komponen subjective well-being Diener, Suh, Lucas, & Smith, ketiga subjek merasakan afek positif berupa kesenangan dengan aktivitas sehari-hari di panti guna mengisi waktu luang, memiliki perasaan bangga, dan adanya dukungan dari keluarga. Afek negatif berupa perasaan malu pertama kali tinggal di panti, merasa cemas dan khawatir, serta iri. Kepuasan hidup yang beragam pada ketiga subjek karena pengalaman dan penilaian hidup mengenai hidup yang berbeda.

English Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the subjective well-being among elderly "X" nursery home in Malang. The research method uses a phenomenology approach. Determination of research subjects based on purposive sampling technique consisting of 3 elderly women who live in one of the nursing homes of Malang City. The method of data collection uses interviews and observation, with data analysis techniques and interactive analysis models of Miles and Huberman, based on the 2 subjective well-being components of Diener, Suh, Lucas, & Smith. The results showed that the three elderly subjects who lived in nursery home had diverse subjective well-being. Based on the two components of subjective well-being Diener, Suh, Lucas, & Smith, the three subjects felt positive affection in the form of pleasure with daily activities in the institution to fill their spare time, have a feeling of pride, and family support. Negative affect in the form of feeling embarrassed at first staying in the home, feeling anxious and worried, and jealous. Diverse life satisfaction on all three subjects because of life experiences and judgments about different lives.
