Abstract

Bencana alam merupakan rangkaian peristiwa yang disebabkan oleh alam yang dapat mengakibatkan timbulnya korban jiwa manusia, kerusakan lingkungan, kerugian harta benda, dan dampak psikologis. Aplikasi yang berbasis Android crowdsourcing bencana alam (Kitana) memanfaatkan informasi dari berbagai kalangan masyarakat mengenai terjadinya bencana alam baik sebelum atau sesudah bencana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang bagaimana user experience yang baik dapat dicapai oleh pengguna ketika menggunakan aplikasi Kitana. Pendekatan atau metode yang digunakan dalam merancang user experience adalah Human-Centered Design (HCD). Setelah mengumpulkan daftar kebutuhan dan tugas pengguna, dilakukan perancangan desain solusi yang berupa wireframe, information architecture dan screenflow sebagai alur jalannya prototype aplikasi. Dengan menggunakan prototype high-fidelity, selanjutnya dilakukan evaluasi usability desain solusi menggunakan cognitive walkthrough with users dan menghasilkan beberapa temuan masalah, dimana temuan-temuan tersebut akan diperbaiki dan dievaluasi ulang dengan menggunakan metode yang sama (cognitive walkthrough with users) dan mengacu pada 4 (empat) cognitive walkthrough questions. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kesesuaian perancangan user experience dengan menggunakan HCD dan evaluasi usability menggunakan cognitive walkthrough with users menghasilkan 76% peningkatan dalam hal usability dan user experience.

English Abstract

Natural disasters are a series of events caused by nature that can lead to human casualties, environmental damage, property losses, and psychological impacts. The Android-based crowdsourcing application for natural disasters (Kitana) utilizes information from various circles of society regarding natural disasters both before and after a disaster. This study aims to design how a good user experience can be achieved by users when using the Kitana. The approach or method that used in designing a user experience is Human-Centered Design (HCD). After collecting a list of user needs and tasks, the solution design will be produced, the form of the solution design is a wireframe, information architecture and screenflow that was carried out as the path of the application prototype. By using a high-fidelity prototype, then usability evaluation of solution design was carried out using cognitive walkthrough with users and produced several problem findings, where the findings would be corrected and re-evaluated using the same method (cognitive walkthrough with users) and referring to 4 (four) cognitive walkthrough questions. The results of this study are the suitability of user experience design using HCD and usability evaluation using cognitive walkthrough with users resulting in a 76% increase in usability and user experience.
