Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya produksi film bertemakan LGBT di mancanegara termasuk negara Perancis. Salah satu film bertema LGBT yang mngangkat kisah percintaan lesbian dengan latar belakang negara Perancis adalah “Blue is The Warmest Colour”. Adapun yang menjadi masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah “Bagaimana representasi identitas lesbian dalam film Blue is The Warmest Colour?”. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengetahui refleksi dari suatu budaya akan fenomena LGBT dalam masyarakat yang tertuang dalam bentuk film khususnya pada masyarakat Perancis dan kaitannya dengan konteks ke-Indonsia-annya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana representasi identitas lesbian dalam film “Blue is The Warmest Colour”. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode analisis tekstual dan teknik analisis data berupa analisis tekstual Alan McKee. Untuk mendapatkan data, metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi. Dokumen yang digunakan berupa film, lebih tepatnya pada film “Blue is The Warmest Colour”. Setelah dilakukan pengumpulan data berupa dokumentasi dari tayangan tersebut, lalu dilakukan analisis terhadap audio visual seperti dialog, setting waktu dan tempat, teknik komposisi shot yang di screenshoot kemudian dapat diinterpretasikan maknanya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tokoh Adele dalam film ini menemukan dirinya sebagai seorang lesbian dengan pergeseran orientasi seksualnya yang semula heteroseksual menjadi homoseksual. Selain itu terdapat pembagian peran berdasarkan ekspresi gender dalam identitas lesbian yang digambarkan oleh tokoh Adele dan Emma. Emma seorang butchie yang lebih bersifat maskulin memiliki peran dalam domain publik (bread winner). Sedangkan Adele merupakan seorang femme dengan sifat feminin memiliki peran dalam domain privat. Pada penelitian ini juga ditemukan bahwa terdapat sebagian masyarakat Perancis menolak akan adanya hubungan sesama jenis dan pernikahannya hal ini dikarenakan heteronormativitas yang tinggi dikaitkan dengan aturan agama yang berlaku di tempat tersebut, hal ini kemudian dikaitkan dengan konsep gender yang dikemukakan oleh Judith Butler dan memperlihatkan bahwa konsep ini bersifat tidak kontekstual dengan budaya yang berlaku terkhususnya pada negara Perancis dan Indonesia.
English Abstract
This research was motivated by the large number of LGBT-themed film productions abroad, including France. One of the LGBT-themed films that raised the story of lesbian love with a background in the French state was "Blue is The Warmest Color". The problem in this study is "How is the representation of lesbian identity in the film of Blue is The Warmest Color?". This study tries to find out the reflection of a culture of LGBT phenomena in society which is contained in film form especially in French society and its relation to the Indonesian context. The purpose of this study was to find out how the representation of lesbian identity in the film "Blue is The Warmest Color". This study uses a constructivist paradigm with a type of qualitative research. The method used in this study is the method of textual analysis and data analysis techniques in the form of Alan McKee's textual analysis. To get data, the data collection method used is documentation. The document used in the form of film, more precisely in the film "Blue is The Warmest Color". After collecting data from the documentation, then, an audio visual analysis such as dialogue, time and place settings, shot composition techniques that are screenshots can be interpreted. The results of this study indicate that the character of Adele in this film found herself as a lesbian with a shift in her sexual orientation which was originally heterosexual to become a homosexual. In addition, there is a division of roles based on gender expression in the lesbian identity described by the characters, Adele and Emma. Emma is a masculine butchie who has a role in the public domain (bread winner). While Adele is a femme with a feminine character having a role in the private domain. In this study it was also found that there were some French people rejecting the existence of same-sex relations and marriage because of the high heteronormativity associated with the prevailing religious rules in the place, this was later related to the gender concept proposed by Judith Butler and showed that the concept is not contextual with a culture that applies especially to the French and Indonesian states.
