Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan lebih dalam mengenai politik premanisme yang beroperasi dalam proses penutupan dan alihfungsi jalan Jati Baru, Tanah Abang. Adapun rumusan masalah penelitian ini, yaitu bagaimana politik premanisme beroperasi dalam proses penutupan dan alihfungsi jalan Jati Baru, Tanah Abang. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori arena produksi kultural. Bourdieu dalam salah satu karyanya yang berjudul (The Field of Cultural Production) mengungkapkan bahwa arena produksi kultural pada dasarnya disebabkan adanya habitus dan arena yang meliputi modal kultural, modal simbolik dan modal lain yang mendukungnya baik secara langsung maupun tidak seperti modal ekonomi dan modal sosial. Dalam hal ini habitus dapat diartikan sebagai sistem disposisi yang akan menghasilkan perbedaan gaya hidup dan praktik-praktik kehidupan, sesuai dengan pengalaman dan proses internalisasi agen dalam berinteraksi dengan agen lain maupun struktur objektif tempat dia berada. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan kawasan Tanah Abang merupakan tempat terjadinya pertarungan perebutan kekuasaan antara kubu L dan kubu U. Dalam pertarungan ini turut memanfaatkan momentum PILKADA DKI Jakarta 2017. Kontestasi tersebut dilakukan dengan mempertarungan kekuatan modal yang dimiliki oleh tiap kubu. Pada akhirnya kemenangan diraih oleh kubu L dalam pertarungan kontestasi poiltik dan perebutan kekuasaan di Tanah Abang yang menghasilkan produk kebijakan penutupan dan alihfungsi Jalan Jati Baru, Jakarta.
English Abstract
This research aims to further explain the topic of politics of thuggery operating through the process of road closure and functional shift of the Jati Baru Street at Tanah Abang. This research asks how the politics of thuggery operates through the process of road closur and functional shift of the Jati baru Street at Tanah Abang. This research uses Bourdieu’s Theory of Cultural Production Field. This theory argues that cultural production field came to being because of these few factors, which are habitus and the field itself which comprises cultural capital, symbolic capital, and any other assets that could be of direct or indirect help like social and economic capital. Habitus can be defined as system of disposition which then will create differences in the practice of everyday life based on the agent’s own experience and internalization in interacting with other agents or with the objective structures from where the agents live. The findings of this research show that the area of Tanah Abang turns out to be the site of power struggle between the U group and the L group. In this battle, it will also take advantage of the momentum of the DKI Jakarta PILKADA 2017. The contestation is carried out by fighting the strength of the capital possessed by each camp. In the end, the victory was won by camp L in the fight against poiltic contestation and the struggle for power in Tanah Abang which resulted in a product of the policy of closure and the conversion of Jati Baru street, Jakarta.
