Abstract

Bioplastik dapat dibuat dengan menggunakan bahan alam yang ramah lingkungan seperti pati biji alpukat yang memiliki kandungan pati sebesar 67,79% dengan kadar amilosa 32,47% dan kadar amilopektin 35,32%. Amilosa dapat menyebabkan bioplastik memiliki sifat yang kuat sedangkan amilopektin mempengaruhi kestabilan dan kelenturan bioplastik. Penambahan variasi kandungan ZnO pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai kuat tarik dari bioplastik berbahan dasar pati biji alpukat. Proses pertama dimulai dengan pembuatan pati biji alpukat setelah itu dilakukan proses pencampuran pati dengan ZnO menggunakan alat ultrasonic cleaner. Kandungan ZnO yang digunakan bervariasi yaitu 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% dan 6% dari massa pati. Penelitian menghasilkan nilai kuat tarik pada kandungan 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% dan 6% sebesar 28,81; 32,19; 47,17; 29,47; 24,40; 18,84 dan 17,38 MPa. Nilai kuat tarik meningkat pada penambahan ZnO 1% sampai 2% dan menurun pada konsentrasi 2% sampai 6%. Nilai Elongasi menurun dari konsentrasi 1% sampai 3%, kemudian meningkat dari konsentrasi 3% sampai 6% dengan nilai elongasi masig-masing 3,47%, 3,51%, 2,86%, 1,69%, 3,39% dan 3,57%. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama penyimpanan terhadap kuat tarik sampel maka dilakukan uji kuat tarik sampel setiap 7 hari selama 28 hari dan dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa sampel mengalami kenaikan nilai kuat tarik pada hari ke 21 dan turun pada hari ke 28. Untuk uji daya serap air didapatkan data bahwa penyerapan tertinggi ada pada sampel bioplastik tanpa kandungan ZnO sebesar 86% dan serapan air terkecil berada pada kandungan 6% ZnO sebesar 40%.

English Abstract

Bioplastics can be made using environmentally friendly materials such as avocado starch which has starch content of 67.79% with amylose content of 32.47% and amylopectin content of 35.32%. Amylose can cause bioplastics to have strong properties while amylopectin affects the stability and flexibility of bioplastics. The addition of ZnO content variation in this study aims to increase the value of tensile strength of avocado starch based bioplastic. The first process begins with the production of avocado starch after which the starch mixing process with ZnO uses ultrasonic cleaner. The ZnO content used varies 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% and 6% of starch mass. The research yielded tensile strength value on content of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% and 6% at 28,81; 32.19; 47,17; 29,47; 24,40; 18.84 and 17.38 MPa. The value of tensile strength increased on the addition of ZnO 1% to 2% and decreased at concentrations of 2% to 6%. Elongation values decreased from concentrations of 1% to 3%, then increased from concentrations of 3% to 6% with a mass elongation of 3.47%, 3.51%, 2.86%, 1.69%, 3.39% and 3.57%. To determine the effect of storage duration on sample tensile strength, a sample tensile strength test was conducted every 7 days for 28 days and from the result of the research it was found that the sample had increased the value of tensile strength on the 21st day and decreased at day 28. For water absorption test obtained data that the highest absorption is in bioplastic samples without ZnO content of 86% and the smallest water absorption is at a content of 6% ZnO by 40%.
