Lumut (Bryophyta) Epifit Pada Tanaman di Area Parkir Sepanjang Jalur Utama Universitas Brawijaya

Khujjah, Madinatul (2018) Lumut (Bryophyta) Epifit Pada Tanaman di Area Parkir Sepanjang Jalur Utama Universitas Brawijaya. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Moss (Bryophyta) is a group of low plants that can be used as bio-indicators of air pollution. The aims of this research are to know the diversity of epiphytic moss in the parking areas along the main line of Brawijaya University (UB) and the diversity of the host plant. This research was conducted on August until December 2017 in 20 parking areas along the main line of UB. The methods were selecting of parking areas, exploration and identification. The selected parking areas are off-street type, which have an identity and guard system in the form of security guard and security post. The election was also based on the location along the main line that suspected of more contaminated by air pollution. Exploration is done in the selected parking areas by observing each individual tree which has been found. Moss that was found grown attached to the tree then collected. Things to note when collecting includes the name of the parking area, host plants, overgrown parts, collecting time and abiotic factors. The identification was done in Laboratory of Taxonomy, Structure and Plant Development, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UB. Identification was done using identification book of Malesiana Bryophytes. The results shows there were 14 epiphytic Bryophytes of 17 genera of 20 species. A total of 19 species grow on tree trunks and one species on the root of the tree. Nine species of trees covered with epiphytic Bryophytes both on the stem and roots. There were nine family of Bryophytes that can be used as bio-indicator of air pollution found in the research location.
