Abstract
Pengukuran sudut kontak dapat dilakukan dengan membentuk tetesan cairan pada permukaan zat padat. Pengukuran sudut kontak banyak digunakan dalam menentukan sifat hidrofobik atau hidrofilik pada suatu sample. Dalam penelitian yang sudah ada, dihasilkan suatu sistem instrumen pengukuran sudut kontak dimana dalam penginjeksian aquades masih menggunakan metode tetes cairan manual menggunakan mikropipet. Pada penelitian ini dikembangkan sistem otomatisasi injeksi aquades dalam orde mikroliter yang dapat digunakan untuk menginjeksi aquades pada instrumen sudut kontak. Sistem injeksi yang telah dibuat berbasiskan motor stepper sebagai sistem penggerak utama yang dikontrol dengan mikrokontroler PIC32MX460F512L. Pengendalian mikrokontroler dilakukan menggunakan komputer. Volume aquades yang dikeluarkan diatur menggunakan program komputer. Program komputer dibuat menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Delphi. Komunikasi antara mikrokontroler dengan komputer dilakukan melalui UART. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembuatan sistem injeksi dapat digunakan dalam proses penginjeksian aquades pada instrumen sudut kontak. Hasil uji perulangan menunjukan bahwa sistem injeksi ini bisa menginjeksi sample aquades dengan volume paling sedikit sebesar10 μl.
English Abstract
Contact angle measurements are widely used in determining hydrophobic or hydrophilic properties of a material. Contact angle measurement was done by dropping a small amount of water on the surface of the solid and capturing the droplet shape. The water droplet can be placed on top of the sample surface manually by ejected an amount of water from a micropipette. This method has several disadvantages including the inefficient time, inaccuracy in injecting distilled water, and causing the formation of bubbles in the liquid that has been dropped. Therefore an automated water droplet mechanism was needed to overcome the problem. In this study an automated water droplet mechnism was developed using a peristaltic pump. The injection system was made using a peristaltic pump with a motor stepper, motor driver and microcontroller PIC32MX460F512L to control the droplet. The microcontroller control is done by using a computer. The volume of distilled water released is regulated by using a computer program. Computer programs are made by using the Delphi programming language. Communication between the microcontroller and the computer is done through UART. The results showed that the injection system could be used in the process of injecting aquades in contact angle instruments. The loop test results show that this injection system can inject aquades with a volume of at least 10 μl.
