Efektivitas Pengendalian Tumbuhan Asing Invasif setelah Pemangkasan Berulang di Kawasan Lindung UB Forest

Rochma, Aby Latifa (2018) Efektivitas Pengendalian Tumbuhan Asing Invasif setelah Pemangkasan Berulang di Kawasan Lindung UB Forest. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

Pemangkasan berulang empat kali menyebabkan seluruh individu C. odorata mengalami kematian. Rendahnya kandungan bahan organik, intensitas cahaya dan pH turut mendukung keberhasilan pengendalian tumbuhan asing invasif

English Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine the effectiveness of repeated pruning on the growth control of Ageratina riparia and Chromolaena odorata, and to analyze the interaction between microclimate and edaphic factors to support the repeated pruning for controlling both species in UB Forest protected area, Sumberwangi, Karangploso. The study was conducted by pruning 99% of the initial high of A. riparia and 90% of the initial high of C. odorata in the 1x1 m2 plots dominated by each species. The treatments were once, three and five times of pruning with four replications. In addition, microclimate factor such as light intensity, temperature, relative humidity, and edaphic factors including soil organic matter and pH were observed. Pruning and response observation were performed for four months, every 14 days for A. riparia and 28 days for C. odorata. The results showed that the effectiveness of repeated pruning was highly depended on the pruning frequency. Once and three times of pruning on A. riparia, and once on C. odorata were still not effective to control their growth. It even stimulated their growth as response of control. Five times of pruning on A. riparia, three and four times on C. odorata had effectively controlled their height, density, coverage, total height recovery rate and total coverage recovery rate only a month. Four times repeated pruning four times caused the dying of C. odorata. The low organic matter content, light intensity and pH also contribute the success of invasive alien plant species control
