Abstract
Permasalahan gigi dan mulut yang memiliki tingkat prevalensi cukup tinggi di Indonesia adalah periodontitis. Periodontitis dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa jenis bakteri, salah satunya adalah bakteri Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Namun selain bakteri banyak faktor yang dapat memperparah timbulnya periodontitis salah satunya adalah rokok, karena memiliki banyak kandungan zat kimia berbahaya seperti nikotin. Nikotin dapat mempengaruhi proses terjadinya resorpsi tulang yang dilakukan oleh sel osteoklas pada penyakit periodontitis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh jumlah sel osteoklas pada tulang alveolar yang dipaparkan asap rokok dan diberi induksi bakteri Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode laboratories true experimental post test only control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 27 tikus yang dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok yaitu kelompok K (-), K (+), dan kelompok perlakuan yang diberi induksi bakteri Aa dengan dosis 0,1 cc selama 21 hari dan pemaparan asap rokok selama 40 hari. Pada hari ke 62 seluruh tikus didekaputasi dan diambil tulang mandibula yang selanjutnya dilakukan penyayatan pada tulang alveolar dan pembuatan preparat dengan pengecatan Haematoksilin Eosin. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi pearson dan didapatkan hasil jumlah sel osteoklas yang meningkat namun tidak signifikan jika dibandingkan kelompok perlakuan dengan kelompok kontrol positif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu tidak terdapat pengaruh antara jumlah sel osteoklas dengan pemaparan asap rokok yang dilakukan selama 40 hari.
English Abstract
Problems of teeth and mouth that has a high prevalence rate in Indonesia is periodontitis. Periodontitis can be caused by several types of bacteria, one of which is the bacterium Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. But in addition to bacteria many factors that can aggravate the onset of periodontitis one of them is a cigarette, because it has a lot of harmful chemicals such as nicotine. Nicotine can affect the process of bone resorption performed by osteoclast cells in periodontitis disease. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of osteoclast cell count on alveolar bone exposed to cigarette smoke and induction of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans bacteria. This research uses laboratories true experimental post test only control group design method. The samples in this study were 27 mice divided into 3 groups: K (-), K (+), and treatment group given Aa bacteria with 0.1 cc dose for 21 days and cigarette smoke exposure for 40 days. On 62nd day, all mice were decaputated and mandibular bones were removed, which were then applied to the alveolar bone and preparing the preparations with the Eosin Haematoxylin treatment. Data analysis was done by using Pearson correlation test and the result of osteoclast cell count increased but not significant compared to treatment group with positive control group. The conclusion of this research is that there is no influence between osteoclast cell number with cigarette smoke exposure done for 40 days.
