Abstract
Penindasan pada wanita sering kali terjadi dalam masyarakat. Pandangan masyarakat, terlebih pria, menganggap bahwa wanita hanya mempunyai status inferior dan wanita berada pada posisi kedua karena patriarki. Hal tersebut memungkinkan laki-laki untuk mengeksploitasi wanita melalui sistuasi ekonomi mereka. Wanita dipaksa sebagai objek komoditas. Film Priceless dipilih karena menggambarkan eksploitasi wanita dalam sistem patriarki melalui pemeran utama, Antonia. Permasalahan penelitian ini terletak pada eksploitasi seksual yang terjadi pada karakter Antonia yang dipaksa masuk ke dalam bisnis prostitusi yang digambarkan dalam film Priceless. Penelitian ini menerapkan Pendekatan Analitis terhadap Film sebagai dasar dari analisis dan teori Barry tentang Eksploitasi Seksual untuk menjelaskan lebih rinci. Hasil penelitian menemukan tiga langkah eksploitasi seksual dalam sistem patriarki dan hal tersebut merugikan Antonia. Sebagai sebuah hasil, Antonia mendapatkan sebuah harapan palsu untuk dipekerjakan di tempat yang layak atau disebut rekrutmen pekerjaan oleh penipuan dan hal itu terjadi karena perdagangan manusia serta ketidakpedulian dari lingkungan, dia juga mendapatkan pelecehan seksual, dan dia menjadi pelacur untuk menghasilkan keuntungan bagi pelaku. Kesimpulanya, film Priceless menunjukkan adanya eksploitasi seksual yang terjadi pada karakter Antonia. Antonia dieksploitasi sebagai objek komoditas untuk mendapatkan keuntungan tinggi bagi para pelaku dan dia juga dijual melalui transaksi antara pelaku dan pelanggan. Hal ini merendahkan harga dirinya sebagai seorang wanita. Disarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya untuk melakukan penelitian dengan pendekatan lain dalam objek penelitian yang sama seperti Psikoanalisa pada Literatur berdasarkan unsur ego.
English Abstract
Oppression on women often occur in society todays. Society, especially men, regard that women only have inferior status and they are placed in the second position, it is because of patriarchy. It enables men to exploit women by their situation of economy. Women are forced as the object of commodity. Priceless movie is choosen because it represents exploitation of women in the system of patriarchy through the main character, Antonia. The research problem is on the sexual exploitation happening to the character Antonia who is forced into prostitution business that is depicted in Priceless movie. This research applies Analytical Approach to Movie as the basis of the analysis and Barry’s theory of Sexual Exploitation to explain in more details. The results of the study found three steps of sexual exploitation in patriarchal sytem and this is detrimental to the character Antonia. As a result, Antonia gets a false hope to be employed in a decent place or it is reffered to job recruitment by fraud and it happens because of human trafficking and the ignorance from the environment, she also gets sexual harassment, and she becomes a prostitute to generate profits for the perpetrators. In conclusion, Priceless movie shows that there is sexual exploitation happening to the character of Antonia. She is exploited as the object of commodity to get a high profit for the perpetrator and also she is traded through the transaction between the perpetrator and customers. It humiliates her self-esteem as a women. It is suggested to the next researcher to conduct a research with the same object of study by using another approach such Psycoanalysis to Literature based on elements of ego.
