Abstract

Praktik kebersihan menstruasi yang buruk dapat sebabkan infeksi saluran reproduksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian sebelumnya 88,1% siswi sekolah dasar mengalami keputihan dan 61% mengeluh gatal-gatal di organ genetalia akibat kebersihan menstruasi yang buruk. Bagi siswi di sekolah, adanya fasilitas seperti sarana WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) akan mendukung praktik menstruasi yang baik selama di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dan praktik kebersihan menstruasi siswi dengan pemanfaatan sarana WASH di dua SD full day school kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional dengan total sampel yaitu 68 siswi yang telah menstruasi. Analisis hubungan variabel menggunakan uji Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian memperoleh sebagian besar (47,1%) siswi memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang rendah, sebagian besar (57,4%) siswi telah melakukan praktik kebersihan menstruasi yang baik, dan sebagian besar (60,3%) siswi menyatakan pemanfaatan sarana WASH memadai. Hasil uji analisis hubungan menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan kebersihan menstruasi (p-value 0,355) dan praktik kebersihan menstruasi (p-value 0,139) dengan pemanfaatan sarana WASH di dua SD full day school kota Malang. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan dan praktik kebersihan menstruasi tidak mempengaruhi pemanfaatan sarana WASH yang tersedia.

English Abstract

Bad menstrual hygiene practices occurrence of infections in the reproductive organs. Based on previous research there was 88,1% elementary students have a experienced of vaginal discharge and 61% complain of itching in reproductive organs during menstruation. For students at school, the existence of such facilities means WASH will support menstrual hygiene practices during the school day. This research is aimed to analyze the correlation between level of knowledge and practice of menstrual hygiene elementary school students with the utilization of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities in two elementary full day school in Malang city. This research method is cross sectional design with a total sample is 68 students who have menstruation. Data were analyzed using rank Spearman correlations test. Result of this research is majority (47,1%) students have a low level of knowledge, majority (57,4%) have menstrual hygiene practice was good, and the majority (60,3%) students used the WASH facilities was good. Correlation analysis showed there was no correlation between level of knowledge (p-value 0,355) and menstrual hygiene practice (p-value 0,139) witih the utilization of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities in two elementary full day school in Malang city. The conclusion of this research is knowledge and practice of menstrual hygiene does not affect the utilization of WASH facilities.
