Abstract

Pembuatan taman-taman kecil (sekitar rumah) maupun dalam lingkungan luas (taman kota) semakin meningkat. Dalam pembuatan taman kecil maupun besar akan memperhatikan penutupan tanah agar tidak polos, hal tersebut dapat mengakibatkan permintaan rumput gajah mini (Axonopus compressus cv dwarf) semakin meningkat. Rumput gajah mini (Axonopus compressus cv dwarf) berkembang biak dengan stolon. Stolon adalah batang yang menjalar di atas permukaan tanah. jarak tanam dan Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) diperlukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman. Penelitian dilaksanakan dilantai 7 Gedung Sentral Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya. Kegiatan penelitian ini berlangsung pada bulan September 2017 sampai Oktober 2017. Alat yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi alat tulis, kertas label, penggaris, timbangan analitik, meteran, Leave Area Meter (LAM), gelas ukur dan gembor air. Bahan yang digunakan meliputi Rumput Gajah Mini (Axonopus compressus cv dwarf) , Pupuk Organik (pupuk kandang kambing) dan Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobakteri (PGPR). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor, yaitu dengan perlakuan Jarak Tanam dan Perendaman. Dengan 12 Kombinasi perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Sehingga terdapat 36 petak perlakuan dengan luas petak percobaan 1 m x 1 m. Pengamatan dilakukan dengan menggunakan 2 cara yaitu : 1). Non Destruktif umur (14 dan 28 hst) dan 2). Destruktif umur (35 HST). Pengamatan Non Destruktif meliputi 1. Panjang stolon (cm) 2. Persentase tanah yang tertutup (%) 3. Jumlah daun (cm) sedangkan Pengamatan Destruktif 1. Panjang akar (cm) 2. Jumlah akar (rumpun) 3. Berat (berat segar total, berat segar bagian atas, berat segar bagian bawah, berat kering total tanaman, berat kering bagian atas, dan berat kering bagian bawah) (g) 4. umlah stolon (helai/rumpun) 5. Panjang stolon (cm). Data yang didapatkan dari hasil pengamatan, selanjutnya akan dilakukan analisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam (uji F) pada taraf nyata 0,05, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui nyata atau tidaknya pengaruh dari perlakuan yang telah diberikan. Apabila didapatkan pengeruh nyata maka akan dilanjukan dengan uji BNJ dengan taraf 0,05 untuk mengetahui perbedaan diantara perlakuan. Hasil pengamatan menunjukan Jarak tanam dan lama perendaman PGPR tidak terjadi interaksi pada pertumbuhan tanaman rumput gajah mini. Jarak tanam 5 cm x 5 cm dan perendaman PGPR 3 jam pada umur 14 hst mendapatkan hasil 43.37 % persentase penutupan tanah, 28 hst mendapatkan hasil 62.57 %, dan 35 HST dengan hasil 96.7% persentase penutupan tanah, tanah akan tertutup rumput dengan sempurna pada minggu ke 6 (42 hst) jika menngunaakan jarak tanam 5 cm x 5 cm. Bahan tanam yang dibutuhkan dalam 50 cm2 perlakuan jarak tanam 5 cm x 5 cm 100 bahan tanam, 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm 49 bahan tanam, dan 10 cm x 10 cm 25 bahan tanam. Hasil panjangviii viii stolon, jumlah stolon, jumlah daun, panjang akar, jumlah akar, berat segar tanaman, dan berat kering tanaman didapatkan nilai yang paling tinggi dari kombinasi perlakuan jarak tanam 10 cm x 10 cm dan perendaman 3 jam didalam PGPR.

English Abstract

Small garden installment around the house or wider environment such as city park is increasing. Installation of small or large garden are concern in land covering to look more appealing, thus it can lead to demand increasment of Pearl Grass (Axonopus compressus cv dwarf) as garden cover plant. Pearl Grass breed with stolon. Stolon is a rod that spreads above the ground. Effective plant spacing and utilize of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) need to increase Pearl Grass productivity. The research was conducted on 7th floor of Central Building of Agriculture Faculty University of Brawijaya from September to October 2017. Tools used were stationery, paper label, ruler, analytical scale, lenght measurement, Leave Area Meter (LAM), measuring cylinder and water bulb. Materials used were Pearl Grass (Axonopus compressus cv dwarf), organic fertilizer (goat manure) and Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacter (PGPR). This research method used Random Block Design (RAK), which is combinations planting distance and immersion treatments with 12 treatment combinations and 3 repetitions. Thus there were 36 plot treatments with each experimental plot area 1 m x 1 m. There were 2 factors in this research, factor I: PGPR Soaking Period, with P0: Not Soaked, P1: 1 Soaking Clock, P2: 2 Soaking Hours, and P3: 3 Hours of Immersion. While Factor 2: Planting Distance, with J1: 5 cm x 5 cm, J2: 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm, and J3: 10 cm x 10 cm. Observations were done in 2 ways non destructive (observed in 14 and 28 DAP) and destructive (observed in 35 DAP). Non destructive observations include stolon length (cm), percentage of covered soil (%), and number of leaves (cm). Destructive observation include root length (cm), number of roots (clumps), weight (consist of fresh weight total, top fresh weight, bottom fresh weight, total dry weight of plant, upper dry weight, and lower dry weight) (g), number of stolon (strands), and stolon length (cm). Observation data were analyzed with analysis of variance at the real level of 0.05, to know whether or not the influence of the treatment has been given. If the results were significantly influenced then would be continue with BNJ test with level of 0.05 to know the difference between treatments. The observation showed, spacing and soaking time PGPR treatments have no interaction on the growth of Pearl Grass, interaction obtained only in 14 DAP observation that the percentage of ground cover. Plant spacing 5 cm x 5 cm and soaking PGPR 3 hours treatment has ground cover percentage are 43.37% at 14 DAP, 62.57% at 28 DAP, and 96.7% at 35 DAP. The soil then covered with grass perfectly on 6th weeks (42 DAP) when used plant spacing 5 cm x 5 cm. Materials needed in 50 cm2 with plant spacing 5 cm x 5 cm, 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm, and 10 cm x 10 cm treatments were respectively 100, 49, and 25 planting materials. Stolon length, number of stolon, number of leaves, root length, number of roots, fresh weight of plant, and dry weight of plant highest value recorded from combination of 10 cm x 10 cm plant spacing and 3 hours of immersion PGPR treatmen.
