Abstract

Open Public Access Catalog (OPAC) adalah salah satu sistem yang digunakan dan dimanfaatkan oleh perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya untuk menyediakan informasi terkait ketersediaan dan koleksi buku yang dimiliki oleh perpustakaan. Informasi yang disediakan dipublikasikan secara digital dan dapat diakses oleh mahasiswa. Fokus utama pada penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesuksesan implementasi sistem Open Public Access Catalog (OPAC) pada perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya dengan menggunakan Delone and Mclean Model. Data yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini diperoleh dari penyebaran kuesioner dan didapatkan sampel penelitian sebesar 113 responden. Berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan kepada pengguna OPAC masih terdapat kekurangan pada sistem dimana sistem susah untuk dipahami dan digunakan, informasi yang dihasilkan tidak akurat, tidak jelasnya penyajian informasi dan masih terdapat beberapa fitur yang belum sesuai dengan fungsinya. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan evaluasi terhadap kesuksesan implementasi sistem Open Public Access Catalog (OPAC) sehingga sistem dapat ditingkatkan kualitasnya sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Hasil yang di dapatkan pada penelitian ini berupa kondisi pada tiap variabel yang ada pada Delone and Mclean Model. Variabel system quality, use, user satisfaction dan net benefit berada pada kategori tinggi sedangkan variabel information quality dan service quality berada pada kategori cukup tinggi. Dari hasil yang didapatkan, diperlukan adanya prioritas perbaikan pada indikator-indikator yang dimiliki oleh variabel Delone and Mclean Model dengan persentase rata-rata tiap indikator yang berada dibawah persentase rata-rata keseluruhan indikator.

English Abstract

Open Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is one of the systems used and utilized by University of Brawijaya’s library to provide information on the availability and collection of books owned by the library. The information provided is digitally published and accessible to student. The main focus of this research is to know the success of Open Public Access Catalog (OPAC) system implementation in University of Brawijaya library using Delone and Mclean Model. The data obtained from this research was obtained from the questionnaires distribution and in obtaining the research sample of 113 respondents. Based on preliminary study results conducted to OPAC users there are still shortcomings in systems where the system is difficult to understand and use, the resulting information is inaccurate, unclear presentation of information and there are still some features that have not been in accordance with its function. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the success of the Open Public Access Catalog (OPAC) system implementation so that the system can be upgraded in accordance with user needs. The results obtained in this study in the form of conditions on each variable in the Delone and Mclean Model. Variable system quality, use, user satisfaction and net benefit are in high category while variable of information quality and service quality are in high enough category. From the results obtained there is a need for improvement priorities on indicators owned by the variable Delone and Mclean Model with the average percentage of each indicator that is below the percentage average of the overall indicator.
