Abstract
Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kurang mampu menemukan ide-ide dan mengembangkannya menjadi teks negosiasi. Di samping itu, siswa memiliki kelemahan dalam menyesuasikan isi gagasan dengan pemecahan masalah yang terdapat dalam teks. Dari segi isi dalam menulis teks negosiasi masih banyak siswa yang kurang lengkap strukturnya dan dari kebahasaan belum sesuai dengan EYD. Model discovery learning dipilih sebagai alternatif untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang dialami oleh siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Malang dengan menggunakan model discovery learning. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). PTK dimaksudkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks negosiasi melalui model discovery learning. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Malang yang berjumlah 31 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pada siklus pertama nilai rata-rata kelas adalah 74,19 dari 26 siswa tuntas KKM dan 5 siswa belum tuntas KKM, presentase ketuntasan pada siklus I yaitu 84%. Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata kelas adalah 84,35 dari 31 siswa tuntas KKM, presentase ketuntasan pada siklus II yaitu 100%. Peningkatan skor penulisan teks negosiasi melalui model discovery learning merupakan hasil dari perbaikan-perbaikan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti bekerjasama dengan guru mitra. Model dalam penelitian ini perlu diterapkan pada siswa terkait menulis teks negosiasi melalui model discovery learning.
English Abstract
The problem of this research is the fact that students have trouble finding ideas and developing them into negotiation texts. Apart from that, students have a weakness in matching the contents of the ideas with the solutions within the text. In terms of the content in writing negotiation texts, many of the students’ work lack structure and are grammatically not according to rules of enhanced spelling (ejaan yang disempurnakan/EYD). The discovery learning model is chosen as an alternative to solve the problem experienced by students. The aim of this research is to increase the negotiation text writing skills of grade X students at Public Senior High School 2 Malang using the discovery learning model. The type of research used in this study is classroom action research. The purpose of the classroom action research is to increase the negotiation text writing skills using the discovery learning model. The subject of this study is the grade X students at Senior High School 2 Malang, with the total of 31 students. There are two cycles of this research. Results of this research show that in the first cycle, the average score of the class is 74,19, with 26 students exceeding the passing grade, and 5 students failing. The passing percentage in the first cycle is 84%. In the second cycle, the average score of the class is 84,35, with all students exceeding the passing grade, thus the passing percentage is 100%. The increase of scores in writing the negotiation texts using the discovery learning model comes from the result of revisions done by the writer as well as the partner teacher. So, the model used in this research, which is the discovery learning model, should be used in writing negotiation texts.
