Abstract
Penelitian ini focus menganalisa tiga lagu Bruno Mars yaitu Talking to the moon, That’s what I like, dan 24K Magic. Penelitian ini akan mejawab rumusan masalah: (1)Apa part of speechdalamlagutersebut? (2) Apa saja makna dari lagu tersebut? Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisa part of speech dalam lagu Bruno Mars dan makna lagu Bruno Mars. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Lagu Bruno Mars dikumpulkan dengan dating. Peneliti menganalisa part of speech dan mengklasifikasikan berdasarkan kelompoknya. Setelah itu, data tersebut dijumlah proporsinya. Untuk meneliti makna lagu tersebut, peneliti melihat pada makna leksikal dan majas-majas yang digunakan seperti majas dalam lagu tersebut. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kata benda dan kata kerja memiliki jumlah lebih banyak dari pada pengunaan kata sifat, kata keterangan, kata ganti, kata seru, kata penunjuk, dan kata hubung. Selain itu, majas–majas yang sdigunakan dalam lagu-lagu Bruno Mars adalah majas personifikasi, majas pengulangan, metonimi, alliterasi, simbol.
English Abstract
This research investigates three lyrics of Bruno Mars songs; Talking to the moon, That’s what I like, and 24K Magic. This research is done to answer the research problems; (1) What are the part of speech found in the song?, (2) What are the meaning of the songs. Therefore, this study aims at observing composition of part of speech in the songs and the meaning implied in the songs. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The data are gathered online. The data were then classified into part of speech group in the table. The researcher sums up the proportion of each part of speech. After that, the meaning of the song is observed by looking for on its lexical meaning and figurative languages found in the songs. The result of the study shows that noun and verb dominate the part of speech that the other components such as adjective, adverb, pronoun, determiner, conjunction, and exclamation. Moreover, figurative languages found in the songs are personification, repetition, metonymy, alliteration, symbols, and etc. This research suggests for the future researcher to use an advance method such as corpus analysis to do semantics analysis and to analyze popular songs to educate today’s audiences.
