Abstract
Self-disclosure merupakan proses pengungkapan fakta-fakta diri sendiri terhadap orang lain. Penulis menggunakan film The Danish Girl sebagai objek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses self-disclosure, menemukan faktor yang mempengaruhi keputusan untuk melakukan self-disclosure dan mengidentifikasi efek dari self-disclosure itu sendiri. Penelitian ini mengaplikasikan metode kualitatif. Di dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menangkap gambar dan dialog. Dalam menganalisis data peneliti mengaplikasikan teori self-disclosure dari DeVito, Derlega, Grzelak dan Mc.Daniel Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seseorang yang hendak melakukan pengungkapan akan mempertimbangkan kepada siapa mereka akan bercerita. Ditemukan juga langkah-langkah yang akan dilalui pelaku pengungkapan diri sebelum menceritakan dirinya pda orang lain. Serta, penulis menemukan bahwa proses self-disclosure diikuti oleh dua efek samping, yaitu pengaruh positif dan negatif yang akan diterima oleh pelaku self-disclosure.
English Abstract
Self-disclosure is the process of revealing facts to other people. The researcher used The Danish Girl movie as an object. This study aimed at determining the process of self-disclosure, find out the factors influenced the disclosure decision making and identify the effects of self-disclosure itself by focusing the analysis on Einar Wegener. This research applied qualitative method. In collecting the data, researcher captured images and dialogues. From analyzing the data, researcher applied the self-disclosure theory proposed by DeVito, Derlega, Grzelak and McDaniel. The results of this research showed the discloser considered to whom they will come out. It is also found that there are stages of disclosure which the discloser passed before they revealed themselves to recipient. Furthermore, the researcher found that self-disclosure process was followed by some effects, the positive and negative which the discloser would receive.
