Abstract
Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi mempunyai tugas dan fungsi menyediakan informasi sesuai kebutuhan sivitas akademika. Oleh sebab itu, perpustakaan harus mampu mengidentifikasi literatur yang dibutuhkan pemustaka sebagai pertimbangan pengambilan kebijakan pengadaan koleksi secara efektif dan efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik literatur yang disitir serta paro hidup literatur pada tesis mahasiswa Program Magister Ilmu Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya tahun 2012-2016. Metode pada penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik bibliometrika evaluatif melalui analisis sitiran. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah tesis Program Magister Ilmu Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya tahun 2012-2016 dengan sampel sebanyak 56 judul yang diambil menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel Cluster Random Sampling. Objek penelitiannya merupakan sitiran pada daftar pustaka tesis yang berjumlah 4701 sitiran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa literatur yang sering disitir oleh mahasiswa Program Magister Ilmu Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya dalam penyusunan tesis adalah jurnal sebanyak 47%, buku sebanyak 32%, sumber internet sebanyak 5%, tugas akhir sebanyak 5%, prosiding sebanyak 5%, laporan penelitian dan sumber lain sebanyak 1%. Judul jurnal yang sering disitir yaitu Journal of Phytopathology sebanyak 51 sitiran. Pengarang yang sering disitir serta paling berpengaruh pada bidang Ilmu Tanaman yaitu Franklin P. Gardner dengan 45 sitiran. Selanjutnya paro hidup literatur pada Program Magister Ilmu Tanaman Universitas Brawijaya adalah 12 tahun, sebesar 51,1% literatur yang digunakan mahasiswa dalam penyusunan tesis merupakan literatur yang telah usang.
English Abstract
College libraries have the duty and function of provide information according to the needs of the academic community. Therefore, the library should be able to identify the literature that the user needs as a consideration of the collection policy decision-making effectively and efficiently. This study aims to determine the characteristics of cited literature as well as the living part of the literature on the thesis of students of Master Program of Plant Science, Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University year 2012-2016. The method of this research uses quantitative approach with evaluative bibliometric technique through citation analysis. The subject of this research is thesis of Master Program of Plant Sciences Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University year 2012-2016 with samples of 56 titles taken using Cluster Random Sampling technique. The object of his research is the citation contained bibliography of thesis libraries totaling 4701 citations. The results of this study indicate that the literature is often cited by students of Master Program of Plant Science Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University in preparation of the thesis is the journal as much as 47%, book as much as 32%, internet resources 5%, final assignment 5%, proceedings 5% research reports and other sources as much as 1%. The most frequently cited title of the journal is Journal of Phytopathology of 51 citations. The most cited and most influential author of the field of Plant Sciences is Franklin P. Gardner with 45 citations. Furthermore the living half of the literature in this field is 12 years. Furthermore, half life of literature in Master Program of Plant Science Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University is 12 years, amounting to 51.1% of the literature used by students in preparing the thesis is an obsolete literature.
