Abstract

Indonesia adalah salah satu negara kaya fauna yang bermanfaat bagi manusia salah satunya lebah. Produk lebah antara lain madu, polen, royal jelly, lilin lebah, dan propolis. Dari berbagai produk lebah tersebut, propolis merupakan produk yang memiliki respon pasar sangat baik. Hal ini dikarenakan dalam propolis terkandung bahan aktif diantaranya flavonoid yang berpotensi sebagai sumber antioksidan berskala tinggi yang diproduksi oleh lebah. Penggunaan propolis tidak dapat dalam bentuk mentah (raw propolis), melainkan harus dimurnikan terlebih dahulu dengan ekstraksi.Metode maserasi banyak digunakan untuk ektraksi propolis, namun memerlukan waktu lama dan hasil ektrasksi tidak maksimal. Maka dilakukan penelitian rancang bangun mesin ekstraktor propolis berbasis automatic “REHEATER” (resistive heating with vacuum filter). Metode resistive heating diterapkan untuk mempercepat penghantaran panas dan mendapatkan panas yang lebih homogen. Digabungkan dengan vacuum filter untuk memisahkan hasil ekstraksi serta box control untuk kontrol otomatis. Dari hasil penelititian Mesin ekstraktor propolis berbasis automatic “REHEATER” (resistive heating with vacuum filter) memiliki efisiensi daya sebesar 91%. Selain itu hasil ekstraksi memiliki kandungan flavonoid 64.53 μg/ml, sedangkan metode konvensional 32.29 μg/ml.

English Abstract

Indonesia is a country which has various beneficial fauna for humans such as bees. Bee products include honey, pollen, royal jelly, beeswax, and propolis. Of the various bee products, propolis is a product that has a very good market response. This is because in propolis contained active ingredients such as flavonoids that have the potential as a source of high-scale antioxidants produced by bees. The use of propolis can not be in raw form (raw propolis), but must be purified first with extraction. Maseration method is widely used for the extraction of propolis, but it takes a long time and the results of extraction is not maximal. then the research is design of propolis extractor machine based automatic “REHEATER” (resistive heating with vacuum filter). The resistive heating method is applied to accelerate heat dissipation and obtain more homogeneous heat. Combined with vacuum filter to separate the extraction results and box control for automatic control. From the research result of propolis extractor machine based automatic “REHEATER” (resistive heating with vacuum filter) has a power efficiency of 91%. In addition, the extraction results contain 64.53 μg / ml flavonoid, while the conventional method is 32.29 μg / ml.
