Abstract
Pertumbuhan penduduk akan beriringan dengan pertumbuhan industri guna memenuhi kebutuhan seluruh penduduknya. Salah satu buangan industri yang menjadi faktor terjadi kerusakan lingkungan yaitu buangan yang mengandung logam berat, terdapat 3 golongan logam berat yang berbahaya salah satunya adalah kromium (Cr). Adsorpsi merupakan metode yang paling umum digunakan karena memiliki konsep yang lebih sederhana dan juga ekonomis yang merupakan peristiwa menyentuh dan melekatnya molekul-molekul gas atau cair dengan permukaan padatan. Metode pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode sampel sesaat (grab sample). Rendemen Chlorella sp yang dihasilkan untuk digunakan dalam penelitian sebesar 0,03% dari jumlah 6 liter Chlorella sp. Rancangan perlakuan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 2 faktor yaitu faktor A (massa biomassa Chlorella sp) dengan empat level yaitu 50 mg/L, 100 mg/L, 200 mg/L dan 300 mg/L serta Faktor B (lama waktu pengadukan) dengan tiga level yaitu 15 menit, 30 menit, 45 menit dan 60 menit dengan kecepatan putaran 200 rpm yang diulang sebanyak tiga kali, penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa adsorpsi menggunakan biomassa Chlorella sp mampu menurunkan kadar kromium. Persentase penurunan kadar krom terbesar pada penelitian ini sebesar 61,065% (300 mg Chlorella sp). Penurunan kadar krom dengan jumlah biomassa Chlorella sp berbanding lurus, semakin banyak jumlah biomassa Chlorella sp yang digunakan sebagai adsorben maka semakin tinggi juga penurunan kadar kromium.
English Abstract
Population growth will be in tandem with growth of industry in order to meet the needs of all its inhabitants. One industrial emission that become factors of environmental damage occurs is emission containing heavy metal. One of heavy metal type capable of damage the environment was chromium (Cr). Adsorption is the method which is commonly used because its simpler and also economically cheap. Adsorption is the adhesion in an extremely thin layer of molecules (as of gases, solutes, or liquids) to the surfaces of solid bodies or liquids with which they are in contact. Sampling method was done by using grab sample. Rendemen Chlorella sp was produced about 0.03 % of the total six-liter Chlorella sp. Treatment design used is a random complete (RAL ) with 2 factors that are A factors (Chlorella sp biomass) with four level that are 50 mg/l, 100 mg / l, 200 mg / l and 300 mg / l as well as the B factors (long stirring) with three level at 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes and 60 minutes round with velocity 200 rpm with three replications. Waste parameter to be tested in this research was levels of chromium, temperature and ph, result of this research stated that adsorption using adsorbent of Chlorella sp biomass able to decline levels of chromium. The best percentage effectiveness of decline in the chromium by the addition of Chlorella sp biomass shown 61,065 % (300 mg Chlorella sp). The decline in the chromium by amount of Chlorella sp biomass is directly proportional, more Chlorella sp biomass used as an adsorbent higher levels also a decrease in chromium.
