Abstract
Kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) merupakan komoditas perkebunan yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Besarnya produksi perkebunan kelapa sawit akan meningkatkan limbah yang dihasilkan dari pengolahan pabrik kelapa sawit. Salah satu upaya pengelolaan limbah kelapa sawit berupa tandan kosong (tankos) yakni dengan memanfaatkannya sebagai pupuk organik. Sehingga penambahan bahan organik tandan kosong dapat membantu memperbaiki sifat kimia tanah pada tanah yang kurang subur atau marginal salah satunya Ultisol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) terhadap ketersediaan unsur hara pada Ultisol. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2017 hingga Maret 2018 di Laboratorium Kimia dan Biologi Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Contoh tanah di ambil di Kabupaten Batanghari dan Kabupaten Sarolangun Provinsi Jambi. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah bahan organik yang berasal dari limbah padat kelapa sawit berupa tandan kosong dan serabut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diuji terdiri atas T1B1 (tanah bertekstur lempung berliat + tandan kosong kelapa sawit); T1B2 (tanah bertekstur lempung berliat + serabut kelapa sawit); T1B3 (tanah bertekstur lempung berliat + tandan kosong +serabut kelapa sawit); T2B1 (tanah bertekstur lempung berpasir + tandan kosong kelapa sawit); T2B2 (tanah bertekstur lempung berpasir + serabut kelapa sawit); dan T2B3 (tanah bertekstur lempung berpasir + tandan kosong + serabut kelapa sawit). Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA dengan uji F, uji lanjut BNT (beda nyata terkecil) bila berpengaruh nyata, serta uji korelasi antar parameter pengamatan pada taraf 5%. Parameter yang diamati adalah sifat kimia tanah seperti pH, C-organik, N-total, P, K, KTK, Ca, Mg, dan Na. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian limbah padat kelapa sawit pada tanah bertekstur lempung berliat dan lempung berpasir berpengaruh nyata terhadap C-organik, N-total, K-dd, dan KTK tanah sehingga mampu meningkatkan ketersediaan hara pada Ultisol. Aplikasi limbah tandan kosong dan serabut kelapa sawit pada tanah lempung berliat (T1B3) meningkatkan C-organik, K-dd, dan KTK tanah secara signifikan pada pengamatan 12 MSI. Nilai C-organik berubah dari 0,545 % menjadi 2,802 %. Sedangkan nilai K-dd tanah yang pada mulanya 0,087 me/100g menjadi 0,219 me/100g. Nilai KTK tanah berubah dari 25,930 me/100g menjadi 30,366 me/100g
English Abstract
The palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a plantation commodity that widely cultivated in Indonesia. The increases amount of palm oil plantation production will increase the waste generated from the processing of palm oil mill effluent. One palm oil waste management effort such as empty fruit bunches (EFB) is by using it as an organic fertilizer. So that addition of EFB can help to improve soil chemical properties of the soil less fertile or marginal such as Ultisol. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding palm oil empty fruit bunches on the nutrient availability in Ultisol. The research was conducted on December 2017 until March 2018 in Chemical Laboratory and Biological Soil Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Brawijaya University Malang. Soil samples were taken in Batanghari and Sarolangun, Jambi Province. Material used in this stud is an organic material derived from by product (waste) palm oil in the shape of solid is empty fruit bunches (EFB) and palm oil fibers. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments includes, T1B1 (clay loam soil + palm oil empty fruit bunches); T1B2 (clay loam soil + palm oil fibers); T1B3 (clay loam soil + palm oil empty fruit bunches + palm oil empty fruit bunches and palm oil fibers); T2B1 (sandy loam soil + palm oil empty fruit bunches); T2B2 (sandy loam soil + palm oil fibers); T2B3 (sandy loam soil + palm oil empty fruit bunches + palm oil empty fruit bunches and palm oil fibers) The data analysis used ANOVA, LSD test (Least Significant Difference) if it is significant, and correlation test among observation parameters at the level 5%. The parameters observed were some soil chemical properties such as pH, Corganic, N, available P and K, Cation Exchangable Capacity (CEC), Ca, Mg, and Na. The results showed that application of palm oil solid waste on clay loam soil and sandy loam soil had a significantly affected to organic C, available K, N, and CEC so as to increase nutrient availability in Ultisol. The application of empty bunches and palm oil fibers in clay loam soil (T1B3) increased organic C, available K, and soil CEC significantly in 12 MSI observations. The value of Corganic changes from 0,545% to 2,802%. While the K-available value of soil which was initially 0,087 me/100g became 0,219 me/100g. The land CEC value changes from 25,930 me/100g to 30,366 me/100g.
