Abstract
Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi bagaimana gerakan sosial baru yang dijalankan oleh WALHI Riau dan Pemerintah dalam mengatasi kerusakan ekologis yang terjadi di Provinsi Riau. Hal ini melibatkan masyarakat yang merasa pemerintah tidak segera menangani masalah kerusakan ekologis di Provinsi Riau. Jenis penelitian ini adalah positivis dimana pengumpulan datanya menggunakan data primer yaitu wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan datanya menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori gerakan sosial baru milik Pichardo dimana gerakan sosial baru secara fundamental memiliki kharakteristik khusus yang berbeda dengan gerakan sosial lama yakni isu/tujuan, taktik, struktur, dan partisipan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah penulis ingin memperkuat teori GSB yang dikemukakan oleh Pichardo. Hasil analisis dalam penelitian ini penulis menemukan bahwa kharakteristik dari GSB yang dijalankan oleh Gerakan Melawan Asap memiliki kharakteristik yang sama dengan yang dikemukakan oleh Picahrdo. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Gerakan Sosial Baru yang dijalankan oleh WALHI Riau memiliki kharakteristik seperti yang disebutkan oleh Pichardo diantaranya tujuan/ideologi yang memberikan penekanan perhatian kepada kualitas hidup dan gaya hidup, kemudian taktik yang digunakan WALHI Riau dalam melakukan gerakan cenderung memilih berada di saluran politik normaldan memobilisasi opini publik, kemudian partisipan yang tergabung berasal dari berbagai kelas dan kalangan yang cenderung bekerja di wilayah yang sangat tergantung oleh pengeluaran negara, sedangkan struktur yang terdapat dalam gerakan soisal melwan kerusakan ekologis diisi oleh staf WALHI Riau.
English Abstract
This study identifies how the new social movements run by WALHI Riau and the Government in overcoming the ecological damage that occurred in Riau Province. This involves people who feel the government does not immediately deal with the problem of ecological damage in Riau Province. This type of research is positivist where data collection using primary data is interview, and documentation. The validity of the data using source triangulation. This study uses Pichardo's new social movement theory where the new social movements fundamentally have special characteristics that are different from the old social movements of issues / goals, tactics, structures, and participants. The purpose of this study is the authors want to strengthen the GSB theory proposed by Pichardo. The results of the analysis in this study the authors found that the characteristics of GSB run by the Movement Against Smoke have the same characteristics with that proposed by Picahrdo. The result of this research is the New Social Movement run by WALHI Riau has characteristic as mentioned by Pichardo such as the aim / ideology which give emphasis to the quality of life and lifestyle, then the tactics used by WALHI Riau in doing the movement tend to choose to be in the political channel normandan mobilizing public opinion, and then joining participants from various classes and people who tend to work in an area that is very dependent on state expenditure, while the structure contained in the soisal movement melwan ecological damage filled by WALHI Riau staff
