Abstract

English Abstract

This research aims to comparing Item Response Theory (IRT) and Classical Test Theory (CTT) in analyzing ethnic identity scale forced choice version. The analyze technique used in this research are Corrected Item Total Correlation (rit), Kuder-Richardson 20 (KR-20), Standard Error of Measurement (SEM) for CTT and two parameter logistic models, Standard Error of Measurement (SEM), Item Characteristic Curve (ICC), Item Information Function (IIF) for IRT. Sample in this study amounted to 441 who are adolescents in SMP Laboratory State University of Malang aged 12 to 15 years. This research uses quantitative method. The data were collected once in one week interval, the test administration using the forced choice version of ethnic identity score developed by Safitri (2017) and Saputra (2017). The ethnic identity scale forced choice version has three dimensions that are multidimensional with uncorrelated dimensions, namely exploration dimension, commitment dimension and affirmation dimension. The result of analysis of item characteristics on exploration dimension and commitment dimension have comparable result using CTT and IRT, whereas in the dimension of affirmation of item which is considered not to meet the criterion of
