Usman, Firdha As Zahra (2018) Kontradiksi dalam Hubungan yang melalui Proses Taaruf. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Taaruf in Islam is placed as an alternative to the exploration process compared to dating as in general. On the other hand, taaruf has certain principles which are at the same time a limitation in a relationship such as a short period of time, the existence of a facilitator and avoidance of further feelings of involvement between the couple. The existence of these restrictions strengthens the potential contradictions that are present during the process of running the debate. In communication science, the theory of relational dialectics is the main study that addresses the contradictions in each relationship. The response to the dialectic or the management of contradictions by the taaruf pair will determine the continuation of the taaruf to the level of marriage or termination of the relationship in other words the process is not successful. The aim of the research is to understand and analyze the contradictions in relationships that occur during the process of taaruf and to manage these contradictions. This descriptive qualitative research applies the phenomenology method with Van Kaam data analysis. In-depth interviews were conducted on four women who became research informants, namely those who had undergone the taaruf process, both unsuccessful and successful until marriage. The results of the study revealed that the contradictions of the relationship in the taaruf process came from various parties involved, namely towards their own taaruf partners and third parties such as parents and murobbiyah as facilitators. In addition, contradictions are also present due to the culture of two different families and the contradictions of the ideal taaruf with the taaruf that is lived.
