Abstract
Logam timbal digunakan pada industri modern sebagai bahan pembuatan pipa air yang tahan korosi, bahan pembuat cat, baterai, kabel dan campuran bahan bakar bensin tetraetil. Akumulasi logam berat Pb pada tubuh manusia yang terjadi secara terus menerus dapat mengakibatkan anemia, kemandulan, penyakit ginjal, kerusakan syaraf dan kematian. Metode pengolahan limbah yang digunakana adalah metode fitoremediasi menggunakan tanaman Eichornia crassipes dengan penambahan aerasi, sedangkan metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dalam skala laboratorium. Limbah yang digunakan adalah limbah buatan Pb dengan konsentrasi 3 ppm dari garam Pb(NO3)2 . Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan faktor yang diperhatikan yaitu waktu detensi 3 hari, 6 hari, dan 12 hari dengan volume air 6 L tiap bak. Parameter limbah yang diuji adalah suhu, pH, evapotranspirasi, konsentrasi Pb di limbah cair dan tanaman, serta pertumbuhan tanaman. Suhu air limbah selama penelitian berkisar 27,5 OC hingga 33,3 OC sedangkan PH air limbah perlakuan tanaman dengan aerasi (EA) viii berkisar 8,58 hingga 8,93 dan tanaman tanpa aerasi (E) 7,33 hingga 7,86. Pada konsentrasi 3 ppm, pertumbuhan tanaman baik pada jumlah daun, panjang akar, dan jumlah tunas dapat tumbuh dengan baik dan tidak ada perbedaan signifikan. Penurunan konsentrasi limbah Pb di limbah cair hari ke 3 konsentrasi logam Pb dalam limbah cair sudah mencapai 0,0016 mg/L atau mengalami penurunan sebesar 99,95% pada kedua perlakuan. Kadar Pb total yang terserap pada tanaman tanpa aerasi (E) 3 hari sebesar 1,46, 6 hari sebesar 1,57, dan 12 hari sebesar 3,58, pada tanaman dengan aerasi (EA) 3 hari sebesar 2,95, 6 hari sebesar 2,26, dan 12 hari sebesar 5,51. Penyerapan dengan menggunakan tanaman Eichornia crassipes perlakuan aerasi cenderung lebih efektif dari pada tanaman Eichornia crassipes tanpa menggunakan aerasi.
English Abstract
Lead (Pb) is used in modern industry non-corrosive pipe production, as ingredients for product battery, for cable and aditive content of tetraetil of fuel oils gasoline. The heavy metal Pb continuous exposure to human body can caused anamia, infertility, kidney disease, nerve damage and death. This research observed a method of waste water treatment using phytoremediation with plants Eichhornia crassipes by the addition of aeration. The research methodology used was experimental method in laboratory scale. Waste water used was artificial Pb by concentration of the 3 ppm made from sald Pb(NO3)2. The research used a random group destructie method with two factors such as aeration treatment and detention time. Factors for aeration were treatment with aeration (EA) and no aeration (E). Factors for detention time were 3, 6, and 12 days. Every treatment was conducted in triplicate. The volume of water 6 L every tub. Observation were conducted at temperature, pH, and evapotranspiration, concentration Pb in water and plants, and the growth of plants. The temperature of waste water during the observation were ranged 27.5OC to 33 OC. The pH of waste water treatment plant with aeration (EA) ranged 8.58 to 8.93 and plants x with no aeration (E) ranged from 7.33 to 7.86. the growth of plants parameter for the number of leaves, roots length, and the number of shoots seemed to grow well ad the there were no significant differences amongst treatments decreasing Pb in liquid waste concentration from day to 3 to 0,0016 mg/L or decreased by 99.95% on both treatment. The total Pb absorbed in plants on system without aeration (E) were 1.46, 1.57, and 3.58 for 3, 6, and 12 days respectively while in plants on sytem with aeration (EA) were 2.95, 2.26, and 5.51 for 3,6, and 12 days respectively. Absorption in Eichhornia crassipes on treatment system with aeration tend to be mofe effetiv than system without aeration.
