Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami dan menganalisis gaya hidup anggota komunitas Malang Rabbit Community. Asumsi awal pada penelitian ini terangkum pada rumusan permasalahan, yaitu : Bagaimana bentuk pengetahuan anggota komunitas Malang Rabbit Community dalam cara memelihara dan membudidayakan kelinci hias. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori atau konsep yang dikemukakan oleh Pierre Bourdieu mengenai habitus dan juga modal. Dimana menurut Bourdieu pengetahuan seseorang dibentuk melalui struktur kognitifnya dan kemudian membentuk habitus itu sendiri. Selain itu beberapa konsep modal juga menjadi faktor dan alasan penting yang mendorong terbentuknya pengetahuan anggota. Penellitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif untuk memahami dan mendeskripsikan fenomena yang terjadi mengenai kelinci hias dan implikasi nya terhadap gaya hidup anggota komunitas Malang Rabbit Community dalam cara memelihara dan membudidayakan kelinci hias. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terjadi pengelompokan-pengelompokan anggota dalam cara memelihara dan membudidayakan kelinci hias. Pengetahuan anggota yang diadopsi melalui habitus mereka menghasilkan gaya hidup yang berbeda. Disini peran habitus memungkinkan dibangunnya teori produksi sosial pelaku dan logika tindakan sehingga dapat membentuk suatu praktik. Pierre Bourdieu mendefinisikan habitus sebagai pengkondisian yang dikaitkan dengan syarat-syarat keberadaan kelas. Hasilnya terjadi dua pengelompokan gaya hidup, yang pertama adalah gaya hidup yang dimunculkan dari kelas sosial atas, kelas sosial atas memiliki cara atau treatment yang berbeda untuk memaksimalkan kelinci hias yang dimiliki seperti penggunaan pakan dan juga teknik breeding. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menghasilkan kelinci yang berkualitas dan juga sesuai dengan standar ARBA. Secara tidak langsung hal tersebut juga akan mempertegas keberadaan kelas mereka dan menghasilkan prestise di tengah masyarakat yang ia peroleh melalui kejuaraan berbagai kontes, berbeda hal nya dengan kelas sosial bawah yang lebih mengutamakan motif ekonomi dengan praktik jual beli yang ditunjukan.
English Abstract
The purpose of this study was to understand and analyze the lifestyle of Malang Rabbit Community members. The initial assumptions in this study are summarized in the formulation of the problem, namely: How is the knowledge of the Malang Rabbit Community member on how to maintain and cultivate special breed rabbits. This study uses the theory or concept proposed by Pierre Bourdieu regarding habitus and capital. According to Bourdieu one’s knowledge is formed through its cognitive structure and then forms the habitus itself. Besides that, some capital concepts are also important reasons and factors that shape the member knowledge. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods to understand and describe the phenomena that occur regarding special breed rabbits and their implications for the lifestyle of the Malang Rabbit Community member in how to maintain and cultivate special breed rabbits. The results of this study show that there are groupings of members in how to maintain and cultivate special breed rabbits. Members knowledge adopted throught their habitus results in a different lifestyle. The role of habitus allows the development of the actor’s social production theory and the logic of action so that it can form an action. Pierre Bourdieu defines habitus as the conditioning that is associated with the conditions of class existence. As a result there were two lifestyle groupings, the first was the lifestyle that emerged from the upper social class, the upper social class had different ways or treatments to maximize the growth of the special breed rabbits owned such as the use of feed and breeding techniques. This is done to produce quality rabbits and also in accordance with ARBA standards. Indirectly it will also reinforce the existence of their class and produce prestige in the midst of the community that they obtained through competing various contests, different from the lower social class which prioritizes economic motives with the practice of buying and selling that is shown.
