Abstract
Forgiveness adalah perubahan perilaku seseorang yang mengalami pelanggaran dari motivasi yang bersifat negative menjadi motivasi yang bersifat konsiliatif pada orang yang melakukan pelanggaran padanya, sehingga menurunkan motivasi untuk membalas dendam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan forgiveness antara etnis Jawa dan etnis Sunda. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bersifat komparatif dengan melakukan perbandingan antara dua kelompok etnis sebagai sampel (etnis Jawa dan etnis Sunda). Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah non probability sampling (snowball sampling). Subjek penelitian berjumlah 1044 mahasiswa yang beretnis Jawa dan Sunda. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah TRIM 12 (Transgression-Related Interpersonal Motivations - 12 Item Version) yang telah diadaptasi oleh Nurmala dan Herani. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan independent sample t-test dan hasil yang ditunjukkan nilаi t sebesаr –0.177 dengаn nilаi signifikаnsi (p-vаlue) sebesаr 0,101 (p > 0.05) ini bearati tidak terdapat perbedaan forgiveness antara etnis Jawa dan etnis Sunda.
English Abstract
Forgiveness is a change in behavior of someone who experiences a violation from a negative motivation to become a conciliative motivation to the person who commits a violation to him, thereby reducing the motivation for revenge. The purpose of this study was to determine the existence of differences in forgiveness between ethnic Javanese and ethnic Sundanese. This study uses a comparative quantitative approach by comparing between two ethnic groups as a sample (ethnic Javanese and ethnic Sundanese). The sampling technique in this study is non probability sampling (snowball sampling). The research subjects were 1044 students who were Javanese and Sundanese. The instrument used was TRIM 12 (Transgression-Related Interpersonal Motivations - 12 Item Version) which was adapted by Nurmala and Herani. The data in this study were analyzed using the independent sample t-test and the results indicated by the value of -0.177 with a significant score (p-vаlue) of 0.101 (p> 0.05) bearing in mind there were no differences in forgiveness between Javanese and Sundanese.
