Abstract

Gastrodiplomasi merupakan salah satu bentuk diplomasi kontemporer dalam menghadapi isu non-tradisional, yang juga merupakan bagian dari diplomasi publik. Gastrodiplomasi ini menggunakan makanan tradisional suatu negara sebagai alat untuk melakukan diplomasi tanpa adanya paksaan. Pada tahun 2010, Taiwan mulai melakukan gastrodiplomasi dengan mengangkat tema All in Good Taste : Savor the Flavors of Taiwan. Upaya gastrodiplomasi yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah Taiwan ini memiliki tujuan utama yaitu agar Taiwan lebih diakui oleh dunia internasional dan dikenal sebagai sebuah negara melalui budaya serta kuliner khasnya. Selain dari pemerintah pusat dan daerah, upaya gastrodiplomasi ini juga melibatkan peran aktor non-negara dan industri swasta dalam mempromosikan kuliner tradisional Taiwan.

English Abstract

Gastrodiplomacy is one of contemporary diplomacy in confront non traditional issue, which is also a part of public diplomacy. This gastrodiplomacy utilize traditional food as a tool to conduct diplomacy without any coercion. In 2010, Taiwan started the gastrodiplomacy with the theme All in Good Taste : Savor the Flavors of Taiwan. The gastrodiplomacy efforts that done by Taiwan’s government have the main purpose that Taiwan recognized by international and known as a state through it’s culture and the culinary. Appart from the central government and the regions, this gastrodiplomacy efforts also involves the role of non state actor and private industry in promoting Taiwanese traditional culinary.
