Abstract

Film memiliki kekuatan dalam mempengaruhi dan mempersuasif individu. Hal ini menyebabkan film digunakan sebagai alat untuk mempersuasi individu tentang Intention to visit. Film yang berjudul “ Trinity, The Nekad Traveler digunakan untuk menjelaskan proses kognitif ketika persuasi pesan berlangsung. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada penelitian ELM dengan mengaplikasikan film sebagai media persuasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma positivistik dengan metode eksperimen. Desain penelitian eksperimen yang digunakan adalah post test only control design. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan melihat adanya perbedaan rata-rata hasil post test kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol tayangan film Trinity “The Nekad Traveler” melalui rute sentral dan rute periferal. Terdapat dua kelompok berbeda yaitu kelompok eksperiment dengan treatment berupa tayangan film Trinity, The Nekad Traveler dan Kelompok kontrol. Sampel yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah Siswa SMAN 1 Jombang sebanyak 60 orang. Hasil dari independent sample t-test menunjukan nilai t-hitung lebih besar dari nilai t-tabel. T-tabel dengan derajat kebebasan (df) 58 yaitu 2.002. Sehingga, hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan proses kognitif pesan persuasive tayangan film melalui rute sentral dan rute periferal terhadap intention to visit. Nilai mean kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi (117.3) jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol (101.63). Sehingga berdasarkan data tersebut, tayangan memiliki pengaruh terhadap intention to visit. Kesimpulan berdasarkan ELM, paparan film diproses melalui rute sentral dan rute periferal.

English Abstract

Movies have the power to influence and persuade the individual. This causes the film to be used as a tool to persuade individuals about Intention to visit. The film, entitled "Trinity, The Nekad Traveler is used to describe the cognitive process when message persuasion takes place. This research contributes to ELM research by applying film as a media of persuasion. This research uses positivistic paradigm with experiment method. The experimental research design used is post test only control design. The purpose of this research is to know and see the difference of post test group experiment result and Trinity movie show control "The Nekad Traveler" through central route and peripheral route. There are two different groups namely experiment group with treatment in the form of Trinity movie, The Nekad Traveler and control group. The sample used is SMAN 1 Jombang Students as many as 60 people. The results of the independent sample t-test show the value of t-count is greater than the t-table value. T-table with degrees of freedom (df) 58 is 2.002. Thus, the result of this research is that there is a difference of cognitive process of persuasive message of movie through central route and peripheral route to intention to visit. The mean experimental group is higher (117.3) when compared to the control group (101.63). So based on the data, impressions have an influence on intention to visit. Conclusions based on ELM, film exposure is processed through central routes and peripheral routes.
