Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh mekanisme corporate governance terhadap profitabilitas perusahaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan data dari 48 emiten manufaktur selama 3 tahun dalam periode 2014-2016 dan menghasilkan data berjumlah 144 data. Data dikumpulkan dari laporan keuangan teraudit dari perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik purposive sampling. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ukuran dewan komisaris memiliki pengaruh terhadap profitabilitas, sedangkan komisaris independen dan kepemilikan institusional tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap profitabilitas. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan mekanisme corporate governance emiten-emiten manufaktur belum efektif diterapkan secara keseluruhan.
English Abstract
This research aims to examine the effect of the corporate governance mechanism on company profitability. This study used data from 48 manufacturing companies over a period of 3 years, resulting in 144 pieces of data. Data was collected from audited financial statements of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The utilized sampling technique is purposive sampling. This research used multiple linear regression analysis to test the proposed hypothesis. The results of this research demonstrated that the size of the board of commissioners has effects on profitability, while independent commissioners and institutional ownership have no effect on profitability. This finding indicates that the implementation of the corporate governance mechanism on manufacturing companies still has not been very effective overall.
