Abstract

Ketika seseorang menjadi mahasiswa tentunya akan dituntut untuk menyesuaikan diri di lingkungan yang baru. Kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menyesuaikan diri secara personal-emotional akan membantu mahasiswa untuk menghadapi berbagai tekanan dalam kehidupan selama perkuliahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan personal-emotional adjustment pada mahasiswa popular dengan mahasiswa neglected. Subyek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 216 mahasiswa angkatan 2017 dari berbagai fakultas di Universitas Brawijaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Peneliti menggunakan 2 (dua) alat ukur yaitu Peer Assessment Sociometric dan subskala Personal-Emotional Adjustment dalam skala Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ). Analisis data menggunakan software R Studio versi 1.1.453.0 dengan metode Independent Sample T-test. Hasil menunjukkan t=-0.64345 dan p=0.5206 (p>0.05) yang berarti tidak ada perbedaan personal-emotional adjustment pada mahasiswa popular dengan mahasiswa neglected.

English Abstract

When someone became a college student, they have to adjust to a unfamiliar environment. College students’ ability to adjust personal-emotionally will help them to face any distress during their college life. This research purposed to find out if there is personal-emotional adjustment difference between popular and neglected college students.The subjects for this research are about 216 college students class of 2017 from various faculties in Brawijaya University. Quantitative method is applied in this research. Researcher used two scales for the research, those are Peer Assessment Sociometric and Personal-Emotional Adjustment subscale from Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ). The data analysis is done by R Studio version 1.1.453.0 with Independent Sample T-test method. Result shows t=-0.64345 and p=0.5206 (p>0.05) which means there is no difference in personal-emotional adjustment between popular and neglected college students.
